Loading and ejecting is not necessarily a sign of a working drive. If the drive gets power (sometimes power isn't needed) it can do that.
Remove it and reinstall it. Make sure your seat the drive firmly into the bay. -
I have an issue right now being that zepto didnt send me the screw holder to fix the dvd writer to the case
-
eitherway i have resitted it several times and have concluded its broken.
zepto are supposed to be sending me a replacement, if that one doesnt work the whole machine is going back -
Bad luck - I hope they check it before sending it out this time.
-
Juan ker, did you receive the replacement drive with bracket yet ?
-
no, but when it arrives I hope to god it works because returning drives to nusystems is costing me money, something I never happened to any of my previous laptops, they just worked.
-
yeah i see your point
- but i spoke to simon before he shipped it, and he did check it...
-
any idea when it was shipped.
-
its arrived , and it works, I am officially in love with Zeppy again
-
It's a shame these early versions of slot loading drives seem to have some wrinkles to be worked out. I think slot loaders are much more desireable if for no other reason than to get rid of the pop-out tray.
Juan Ker: glad to see your problems are solved.
-
tell me about it, I have a mac mini, and loading a disc is so smooth compared to the sony one in the zeppy, you have to give it far more force
-
All is well with it so far though, not that I use the drive that much, on the whole I'm still happy I went with a slot in.
