    Key (Volume, Mute etc.) & factory reset

    Before formatting, when i used the function keys to control the volume and stuff it used to show a bar adjusting the volume and stuff on the screen but after formatting and installing windows xp pro, it doesnt happen, i installed all the drivers and everything in the averatec folder, (the averatec website has the same crap) but still nothing shows? anyone know how to get it back?

    also is there like a factory reset maybe? i disregarded the phoenix partition garbage in the beginning when i first got the laptop, so i dont think i can use that.

    No, there should be some kind of Software you are missing to install.
