    Hi there,

As you know, on the compal fl90 are some keys that have other funtions when you use the fn-key. Most of them are on the F1-F12 keys but there are also lots of possibilities on the normal letters (like "numblock" on some keys)

    My Problem is:

While I was writing a Mail in outlook the keyboard suddenly changed. So I can not write "google" anymore > it now is "g66g3e"
    "." is now "," etc

If I press the fn-key everything is "normal" again but just for the term the fn-key is pressed. The strange thing is that f1-f12 behave normal all the time e.g when "fn" is pressed they do what they should do when "fn" is pressed (lower volume etc) and when fn is not pressed they behave normal.

I first thought of a hardware failure but this problem is just under Windows Vista - when booting XP everything is fine again. So it has to be soemthing I changed without knowing,,,,any help on that ?

You might have num lock on. If you look at the keyboard, "O" has a "6" on it and "L" as a "3" on it. The keys in that area are the numpad.

Are you sure number lock is off, you dont have to push fn + num lk to turn it off just push the num lk button. This is what happens when i push the num lk and type google,i get g66g3e just like you.

Wasn't till today trying to type Google I typed G66g3e in a search & found this site/thread.

Fn + numlk didn't work numlk but Shift+Numlk worked, lol. thanks for the pointers.
