At my wits end, with in warranty defective keyboard and a defective "D" key (but no receipt of purchase) Customer service only could say they were sorry; With no instructions anywhere on the internet to remove this specific keyboard; I decided to take it out or break it. It turns out there are a few tricks to remove and replace, but it is relatively simple. I will outline the steps. (1) On the back of the laptop remove the 8 screws holding the cover plate on the left side of the machine(looking at the back), The same side as the fan vents. You will have to break the white warranty seal (toooo bad I couldn’t get any relief from customer service). Next remove the screw hidden on the upper right hand edge of the opening (see photo). I put a piece of scotch tape over the hole and left the screw in the recess so I wouldn’t lose it before I started to reassemble. (2) On the front of the machine at the top of the keyboard use a small flat screwdriver to push up the 4 tabs on top and 2 tabs on the side that are holding the top of the keyboard down. (3) Carefully using a knife or similar thin flat tool pry the keyboard up starting on each top corner. . Just carefully and evenly pry the keyboard up at the top. (4) When it has released slide the keyboard toward the screen till the bottom tabs clear. (5) Remove the tape over the keyboard connector and replace the latch to remove the connector.----- I have ordered new keyboard and will complete post and include photos when it arrives

I too when through this keyboard replacement exercise on my 2260, and wish I had a guide to help me out. It was frustrating to say the least, and I also have an extra screw for my trouble... Good on you for taking pictures. I pulled off my keyboard without removing the screw actually holding the keyboard on, making for a bent old keyboard. Even though now I can change out this particular keyboard without a problem, I hope this will help others who want to do the same. Good luck on your keyboard swap!
