I was thinking about it earlier today. If we could get a side by side test done by a thrid part source. Using the Arima chassis and have every reseller and system builder send in their best "whitebook" with their twinks etc and have them run al kinds of benchmarking, heat test, stress test, mods etc. ANd just see who reigns king.

Sorry for the hype and the promotion pitch lol. Just came to mind.

Wouldn't they all end up having the same/similar top end components and it would just be a showdown of who pretweaked the OS most? Sounds pointless to me.

sorry friends...but their was already one shootout and k|n pretty much killed all the competition!. guess they didn't understand the concept of the fastest notebook in the world competition. so k|n should keep that title until next year this time when they decide to do it again. and this time.... all will understand what they should send and what they shouldn't....

that was then and this is now...*LOL* and intel has a notebook quad running at 3.5 to 3.7 ghz..... so now the plot thickens as time goes on.... besides...with desktop cpus, the e series chip was king for quite sometime while the quad made its debut

Don't forget that the companies involved had the choice to send in whatever they wanted. If they chose to send in a dual core notebook CPU, it's within their rights. Not necessarily a smart thing, but they did it anyway. This doesn't detract from K|N's performance in the shootout.

don't get the 'null' part. if you were trying to say that it wasn't quite a shootout because of the different systems used, then the explanation for that would have to be: they asked different companies to send in "their best and brightest example of a gaming machine."

so if a certain company chose to send in a lesser, well built system, then.. ..

here...here, to that one.... im sending in my best system over clocked by hardware...because i heard they wipe all the systems and reinstalled the os on all of them.... but like they said...it's a competition not an exhibition....
