Okay, so tonight I decided to turn off my laptop for the night. Let it sit for a while, then I remembered I needed to check something. Go to turn it back on.
THe fan kicks up for about one second then cuts back out. I wait, wait. Nothing. Black screen. I try to turn it off by holding the power button. It doesn't work. I have to take out the battery for it to shut off. I thought, okay ram probably went bad. I stuck in a stick of brand new PC2 5300 DDR2 RAM, same as the ram before. Nothing. I took out the Hard drive and see if would at least go into bios, nothing...I have no idea what is going on. Anyone have an idea? My specs are in my sig.

If it starts and things run at least, means the battery is not dead right guys? I think it has to do with the new ram. I don't see any other symtoms.
-
Well I only switched the ram out to test if it was bad or not, and it didn't change anything. I mean the thing isn't even a week old...

It's failing very early in the boot cycle. I would think, even with bad ram, you'd see something on your display from the BIOS. Perhaps you've got a bad motherboard or something. Since it's so new, I'd definitely get into contact with whoever you bought it from. You're bound to be under warranty.

Yeah, the LCD doesn't even turn on, there is no power going to the CD drive (even though the notebook itself is on) the only that indicates it's even turn on is the power LED, and the fan that powers up for one second then revs down to a stop. I don't understand how this happened though. It was working perfectly fine, I told it to shut down, it did all it's fancy work, then shut off....permantly it seems. >_<

This happend to me, 3 days after i got my laptop. The video began crashing, giving me scrambled graphics... it got worse and more frequent, and finally to the point where the screen wouldn't even come on at boot.
I had to RMA it and get the motherboard and video card replaced. -
Thanks for all the responses guys! I'll just RMA it monday.
Laptop won't boot...
