Hi everyone at netbookreview.com.
Ive found tons of info in this forums so ive decided to give it a go and try to be as clear as possible on my purchase:
Im going to buy a Zepto g14b in singapore in october :
after i get it i would do a full review of it since theres not much info on the web.
apart from battery and no hybrid sli graphics,i think this laptop is the best around!
the ideal specs areor what i can afford)
Screen and GPU: WXGA+ 1440x900 + NVIDIA® 130M GT 512MB GDDR3
CPU: Intel C2D P8400 2.26GHz 1066MHz 3MB 25W
RAM | low latency: 4 GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC6400 800MHZ>
Hard Drive: 500GB 7200rpm SATA>
Battery: 9 Cell Nox/Orion>
Wireless Zepto Zpro2 N-Standard 300Mbit BGN>
Optical Drive: DL DVD±RW / CD-RW SATA>
OS: No OS
SInce some of the specs are not available i would like to know if this ones are customizable in the future:
WXGA+ screen
graphics card
CPU
Wireless card
blue ray
another issues are:
1-would the g14b laptop touch pad be able to work as a multi touch pad (with software emulation or Not)
2-in the future would be possible to install a LED screen?
3-does the intel turbo memory does any major difference ?
4-IS THE WXGA GOOD ENOUGHT?
Thank you all for helping, specially ZEPTO USA ,whos been giving good info on this forums

2. Screen swapping is not difficult. Assuming the power inverter inside the Zepto is compatable with said LED screen it should not be a problem. Although I have not seen many 1440 LED screens...I would not suggest trying to swap the screen yourself, have a Zepto dealer do it.
3. Zepto USA has stopped offering the Intel Turbo Memory, along with many other brands on the market.... take that however you would like.
4. Yes. yes it is... but its a different resolution.. The + is the 1440 which I like much better. -
I find 1280x800 fine but 1440x900 wouldnt hurt at all
-
I just like to say you would get better performance in games and general stuff if you had the nvidia 9650 with the 2.53ghz processor, which will cost the same as this configuration
-
thanks for the updates:
i would never change the screen myself !
just wondering what could be done in the future.
i presume keeping the 9650 nvidia card and having a better CPU ,does make sense, because gaming wouldnt be the only use for the laptop.
ive made the choice of having the gt 130m because of this info :
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Computer-Games-on-Laptop-Graphic-Cards.13849.0.html
altough they are side by side, it seems theres a considerable gap between the gt 130m perfomance comparing to the 9650.
still being upgradable in the future,im really considering!
im ordering from this zepto dealer:
http://www.mucro.asia/index.php/Zepto-Notebooks/View-all-products.html
the prices are considerably lower.
one last question, the cpud can easily be changed in the future?\
thank you all -
The problem with that table is there all different computers, with different processors so you can't really compare them with them results as some have a unfair advantage to other results. In gaming though with the 130m you will get a 12-20% increase in performance
Sorry I don't know for sure if the cpu can be upgraded I think it can though. -
thanks homebrew

That a great score, lol I'm still deciding on ether to get the asus n81 or this ummm...
-
good score!
im definitly buying the zepto g14b machine,
but ill go from 2.26ghz to 2.40 instead!
i think i will need that kind of processor for playing something like gta4
2.26 seems old already and i dont feel like upgrading to soon yet(apart from the screen)
does anybody has a proper review on the body of this laptop?
theres no info on size as well anywhere....
theres really very little info on this baby,im doing a proper review as well after i get the g14b and test it! -
Here check these out there on the Nox, but its exactly the same just without docking support which is a bonus anyway
