Thanks for posting the information.

Actually I found the 92.91 series for my HEL-80 to be superior in every way. Better FPS in games, better overclocking, etc.
-
What it should do:
-Laptop display: normal desktop image with video playing in some media player.
-TV display: full screen version of the video.
I know the 9 series can do this but the version I tried had aspect ratio issues: displaying a 16:9 video as 4:3 on a 16:9 tv screen.
The 84.74 could do this perfectly, but it has a known shutdown error. -
Where did you even get

The changes from BIOS 110B to 112B are:

2. Fix System Hang-up during WinXP BOOT intermittently (F0h)
3. Fix AP CPU DTS Reading incorrect
4. Fix Password on Boot failed issue
5. Fix UUID reading incorrect
6. Force enables HD audio and Disable HD audio Dock support
7. Enable PC beep in DOS mode
8. Remove unused code when system enter S5 state
I do not see anything that will force me to upgrade here. -
where do you get the chicony driver?
-
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
-
As you can see, it is in the x64 folder but it also includes x32 drivers.
With this version I don't get the "can not disable" bug. -
Did some updates in the top post for VGA and TV.
-
i wanted to download the 112b BIOS file but when i click on it on that website it links me to the 110B file that is listed right above it. anyone else have this happening to them?
-
Yeah same happens to me?
-
I just bought my HEL80 and it still had the 105B bios.
Is this bad? (So do I need to flash it, what will be better then?) -
where are the latest Omnipass and Authentec drivers located? bizcomm's website?
-
Normally you don't need to upgrade your BIOS unless you're having problems that an upgrade would correct. -
Where can you get the fingerprint driver?
-
-
I was thinking of trying the new Windows Vista RC1 64bit since I have the
T7200 cpu, only thins is that I don't know if there are any drivers available for it. Anyone know where I could get the drivers just to try it out?
Should I use the Windows XP 64bit drivers on Bizcom? -
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
The Bizcom drivers will be the best available
-
These drivers are making me go insane... I can't find the latest for a few of these drivers...
Btw, Bizcom doesn't seem to have the latest though. -
New bios:
-
How does one update all these drivers? Do some recommend/require that you uninstall the older one first? For instance, i found a new driver from realtek for the Hel80 network card:
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads...d=5&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false
but it has no instructions. I assume, its the most recent. Thoughts/advice?
Also wanted to update my chipset driver to: http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scr...e+Edition&lang=eng&strOSs=45&submit=Go%21
but again, is it as easy as dl'ing, then clicking on autoinstall feature?
-
I am wondering if I am the only one who has this problem...
I have a HEL80 with Realtek HD audio bla bla bla...
When I install the audio driver from Bizcom's web site, it shows version R1.32. Everything works fine with this version except the hardware acceleration doesn't work in Far Cry and Neverwinter Nights (BSOD and echoing).
And than I noticed that the drivers on my driver CD is R1.35... Logically, the CD should be older than the web site (drivers dated as 12/1/06). when I install 1.35, audio in Windows (event sounds and MP3s) sounds choppy and as if extrem low-cut and high-cut filters have been applied on them (sounds like playing in another room with doors closed).
And than I discovered there is the version R1.51. After installing it, same result as for R1.35.
Yes I updated everything imaginable (game, windows, chipset... all !).
Am I missing something ? Which are the real latest audio drivers ?
Thanks. -
Where can I find a changelog for the different BIOS versions?
-
-
Bump. Anyone?
-
i am go into install vista home premiun 64bit
and i'm thinkin what is correct bios version should be in before installing vista.

114B is the latest BIOS, but what are you going to do for 64-Bit drivers?
Compal has not released 64-Bit drivers yet. -
and intel has 32/64bit drivers for 945pm chipset and proset wireless.... -
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
You are correct, but 115B and 116B are for Vista 32-Bit only.
In addition to a BIOS that supports 64-Bit Vista you will still need the rest of the drivers for 64-Bit, and they have not yet been released.
There is a reason no one is offering 64-Bit Vista on the HEL80 yet, so proceed at your own risk. -
also there is GF7600 64bit drivers.. http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/index.php?drivers&series=95&os=6&type=1&dir=1
and touchpad 64bit drivers in compal driver site. -
I find this driver package
in intel wep site http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df-external/filter_results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2468&OSFullName=Windows+Vista*+64&lang=eng&strOSs=150&submit=Go%21

Yes, and notice the release date of November 20, 2006!
These are the same drivers that Bizcom has posted, but are older versions dating back to November. Intel just isn't getting the updates Bizcom is. We're still working on HEL80 images for 32-bit Vista versions and haven't had the time to load 64-bit Vista on this model. I'm assuming everything works fine based on our success with 32-bit Vista drivers Bizcom has posted, but until we have time to test them we cannot be sure.
So, you are better off going with what is on the Bizcom website, but as I said earlier...do so at your own risk...or, wait just a few days for things to settle because new driver versions are being released every day. -
Yes.....
do you think that my laptop does't work at all... or some devices may not work?
this far i have chipset driver,vga,touchpad,Wlan... and i hope they work ok... -
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
Let us know how it works for you.
-
i have succesfully completed vista x64 installation
and everything works okay...
only vga driver doesn't work... -
Been running NV 84.25 now for a few days after seeing another users post on liking it... I have to say I'm happier with it then the default that came with the system disk. I've got a powermizer menu now (not sure it wasn't already working and just hidden though) and I've got more resolutions available in games that have allowed me to pump the FPS up about 20. Woo and hoo!

What improvements/problems have you noticed with the latest bios? I heard there was a problem with volume on the version before this one and i was curious to see if it has been fixed.
-
I've noticed a few issues with the new BIOS.
(1) The fan runs more frequently. Windows XP now reports that the CPU is always at 2Ghz or 1.99Ghz, while previously it'd go down to 997Mhz (CPU is a T7200).
(2) When flashing back to an older BIOS (I tested v112 and v114), the TPM module is listed in the BIOS as "Not Detected". It previously worked fine. Flashing back to v116 makes TPM appear again.
(3) There's a longer delay between turning it on and getting anything on the screen. I gather that this is just a delay to allow slow HDDs to spin-up - but it'd be nice to be able to disable it.
What I'd really like to see is a power-management feature that my old Toshiba laptop had - fanless mode. It'd just force the CPU clock speed down until it didn't overheat even with the fan turned off. At some points Windows was reporting that the CPU (PII 300Mhz) was at 16Mhz. This makes everything slow, but there are some situations where I really don't want the fan running. Even if you could just lock the fan to run at low-speed constantly, so that it didn't keep stopping and starting then that'd be okay. -
Out of curiosity what drivers do u guys use off the bizcomm site they usually seem to offer the regular drivers plus the VBI ones ? Whats the difference ? The VBI ones are usually newer ?

Hey
I really need help here..My Hel80 just arrived. I ordered vista along with it. Only problem is that the computer cant seem to find the go7600, and only half of the ram.. I ordered 2gb, but it only shows 1gb. Anyone got any suggestions?
As well I tried to instal the drivers for the go7600 for the driver cd, but it can just be installed on xp,not on vistaI dunno what to do and I really need some help!
EDIT: at the top of it, trying to install the driver from nvidia, Windows Vista 32-bit RTM, I got an error telling me this program was to used on Vista, and that my computer was not running Vista. >.< Man, I am rather confused right now. One thing is for sure though, I am running Vista and nothing else.. Did a clean instal just a minute ago..

Have you opened up your ram cover and looked to see if it actually had the two sticks installed? I bet your builder forgot to install one of the sticks. Worse case is that one slot is bad or a stick is bad. i would swap the sticks and see if you still have 1 gig showing and that would rule out a bad stick. if it still shows up as one gig then i would contact the builder for an RMA. As far as the driver for your video card is concerned, did you try to download the latest vista driver from compal or biz? try that and see if it installs. if you need any more help, one of us are always here.
good luck.
