It could be something to do with graphics card drivers. If you experience some lag when scrolling up or down webpages, then it points towards that. Reinstall the graphics card drivers and see if it makes any difference. Remember, that you should uninstall the previous ones, restart the computer, install the new ones, and finally restart again.

You should be able to get them of the nVidia website. Alternatively, you can get them from the notebook manufacturers wesbite, as they should also be up to date.

Even so nVidia doesn't directly support mobile video cards, you have to go to laptopvideo2go.com to get the correct drivers...

    I don't think its a processor problem..

Does this happen all the time for you? Or just when you first start windows, because it always takes a while for things to load for the first say 20 seconds after you log into windows.

For me, if I don't open a folder for a while, the first time I do it after starting windows does take a while because I haven't been accessing the hard drive at all until that point, but after I load the folder for the first time, the hard drive is active and opens instantly afterwards.

This post is why I said Vista... I'm assuming you are talking about Aero Effects... or some Linux Composite Desktop stuff which is all in alpha / beta status anyways...

Well, I'm not sure what window flipping you are refering to then unless you are talking about flipping images 90 degree's or something else. Either way you should be pretty darn snappy on that config..

Is your video driver installed properly and working correctly?

Did you change something? or run some updates?

Would be nice to know if you have some information that might be useful to someone else if they are having a similar feeling in their speed.

That doesn't sound right. Maybe you should check with your reseller to see if they can offer help. Or maybe check and see how many things you have running that might be slugging you down..
