    First post here
Just got a JHL90 and when I go into the bios there are only 2 tabs, the main tab and exit tab. On the main tab i can only change the date and time. I tried updating the bios through compal's site but it comes up with an error "Cannon flash if memory managers (himem) present. I tried running through windows and using a bootable usb drive to run in through the command prompt. Any help would be awsome.

What happens when you try flashing from the flash drive? I guess I can create a iso for you.

The setup screen(blue screen) comes up and then an error screen(red) pops up saying "cannot flash if memory managers (himem.sys) present. Press any key to exit." I tried using the new 1.09 bios on compals site. On a side note the whp file in the bios downloaded from compal is nambed 109.wp, but the install program is looking for bios.wph . . .

You have to use pure DOS to do it, not through Windows.

That is what I thought i was doing, use the usb as a boot disk and boot to dos using the usb stick and then i would load the phlash16 utility and it would give me the "cannot flash if memory managers (himem.sys) present. Press any key to exit" message. I used zfactor's guide.
    Has anyone else tried 1.09?

When you boot up from USB drive, don't forget to press F5 to skip himem.sys thus boot into clean DOS.
