I am currently running a PC World, E-System El 3103 notebook with a intel Celeron M440 1.86GHz and was wondering what CPU i could upgrade to so i could have a larger cache,& basically all round quickier performance reguarding multi-tasking etc. Also looking to upgrade my graphics chip, currently running a intel 943GML Calistoga + ICH7-M if possable which would be a good choice reguarding installing for gaming

With a few exceptions, graphics chips are usually not upgradeable in laptops. Even CPU's are sometimes soldered on the motherboard and not upgradeable. For example, my Macbook has a soldered CPU and integrated GPU, neither of those are upgradeable.

I can not find the specs of your laptop with Google. Please use GPU-Z to find out which GPU you have. If it is Intel integrated, forget about the upgrade. If it is a discrete chip, there might be a low chance that it is not soldered on the motherboard. Even if it is replaceable, there might not be any compatible parts available. Regarding your CPU, you need to find out if your CPU is installed on a removable socket on the motherboard.

    In the same vein...

    I have a Asus Z96Js with a T7200 C2D 2.0gig 667FSB 4meg L2. The chipset is the Intel 965 I believe.

Is it possible to move up to a C2D processor with an 800FSB or am I stuck with just upgrading to a faster processor but the same FSB?

    thanks,

    Jeff

Z96JS has a Intel 9 45GM Chipset so no, a CPU with a 800FSB will not work. Your laptop only supports Socket M CPUs(processors with a 800FSB are most likely socket P which is not compatible).

Upgrading a processor is not worth it. First max out the ram/memory and upgrade to a faster Hard drive(SSD/7200rpm/High density 5400rpm) before even considering a CPU upgrade.
