I have a NEC Versa Pro (Japaniese) notebook with fingerprint security system.
Is there any way to disable or reset the fingerprint recognization system? (I have lost my finger  just kidding)
I don't have the finger!!!!!!!!!!! so I cannot turn it on!
Is it possible to remove CMOS or any internal battery to reset the security system memory?

On my ThinkPad, you just hit Crtl-Alt-Del to log in normally.

And on my Fujitsu you can cancel out of the application, there is surely a way around that.

Lost the finger? I call shenanigans!!

I can think of four possible scenarios:

A.) You cut off your finger, where it was either shredded or proceeded to fall through a crack in the earth.

B.) You bought the laptop from somebody and they didn't reset the fingerpint security, in which case you could just send it back.

C.) You bought the laptop from somebody and they didn't reset the fingerprint security, and shortly after the sale they cut off their finger, where it was either shredded or proceeded to fall through a crack in the earth.

    D.) You stole the laptop.

Hahaha...amusing posts. Maybe he, borrowed the laptop off of someone who forgot to log-in/disable the fingerprint scan before hand and now...

    Or maybe scenerio D.

i was always afraid of getting one of those fingerprint scan notebooks because i've seen too many movies where the guy gets his hand/finger cut off by a bad guy in order to open the code thing
