I know I've asked about this machine before, but instead of digging up an old thread I figured I'd start a new one.

I like the Clutch13 and it fits my needs, but the only review I found says the battery lasts only 2.5hrs. Does anyone know if this is accurate?

The configurator shows that it has a 4 cell battery (but no indication of the actual capacity) with a run time of up to 4 hours. However, that will be the most optimistic scenario (none of the notebook manufacturers tend to be realistic in this respect) and this review (which may be the source of your information) indicates 2.5 hours at 50% display brightness and the CPU under load. However, while Battery Eater Pro provides a standard test, that can also be unrepresentative of the a light CPU usage and 20% backlight brightness. I would expect that you can manage 3 to 3.5 hours.

Thanks, that was the test that I was looking at. So BEP keeps the CPU @ 100%? If so then that makes me feel a lot better.

    The review states:
The description on the BatteryEater website:
which indicates that the measured battery time will depend on the selected power profile. However, a continuously loaded CPU will consume a lot more power than light usage such as web browsing or editing a Word document (typically 5% CPU usage).
