The IFL90 looks like an amazing machine so I finally think I'm ready to drop Dell. The nVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT w/512MB looks like a beast. Think there will be a 17" version anytime soon?

I know you're talking about dropping dell, but if you want a 17" 8600GT it looks like the best place right now is the e1720.

Yeah i also doubt they will make a 17inch version. I really hope they put a 8600m GS or GT in their 14.1in version the IFT00 but they probably wont.

But if you have budget the Clevo 570ru and Clevo D900c are great choices

If was shopping for a 17" I'd take a hard look at the Sagers.

Easy killer! The rest of us are still praying for an 8400 GT; it's looking like a GS at the moment. :p

wooh there sparky, i am no pit bull but i would like to have the option even if it might be overkill. Currenty there is only one 14in laptop with a 8600m GT, the Zepto 6224w and i personally like to have my options open. I do admit that the 8400m GT is pretty powerful and a 14 in lappy will probably be better suited for 8400m GT then a 8600m GT but cant a "dawg" dream.

    Heres to dreaming

well even if you got one of those, they'd still be prolly grossly underclocked so the actual gain besides the placebo effect that might bring with it wouldn't be that much, would it?

personally, I'd like to have a good balance betweeen heat and performance, especially on a notebook which I'd keep reasonably close to me at most times be it or not a desktop replacement, eh.
