Hello, i expose my little problem:

The fan on my nice computer makes a noise since yesterday, it's like a long "Krrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" which is really annoying but not too loud. I can hear it when the fan turns. So, is it going to die in the near future or it's just a mechanical "normal" noise?

Open up, check if there's gnomes or rodents around your fan, and clean the mess up - if there's one. There's a thread on Dummy guides that explains how it's done in detail.

Definitely clean out your fan using the cooling guide mentioned above. If cleaning it does nothing, please post back here or contact your tech support.

I cant access it, cause the fan is under the keyboard, this will void my warranty.

There is going to be a panel at the bottom of your notebook right above your fan and heatsink. Two screws and you should be there. Typically there will be some vents in the panel you're looking for.

If you're not sure, try to find pictures online or ask your reseller how to get at the fan.

Nope, not on 6214w, if you want acces the fan you must remove the keyboard => void the warranty.

OK, I just looked at some underside photos. Odd that you can't access the fan for routine cleaning. I guess you're going to see what tech support says about how to clean the fan.

Just mailed the tech support. Can't really explain it in english but they recommended to "squeeze" the computer on the left side (there is the fan), i did that, and now the noise is gone.

Weird. I guess that sort of snaps the fan back into the proper alignment or something (?). Main thing is you were able to get rid of the noise.

Did they tell you how to keep the fan clean though without voiding your warranty?

I don't think removing the keyboard will void the warranty - I mean they sent me a replacement keyboard - how should I have installed it without remove the old one? I've never read something official (I mean on zepto.com or b/w on paper) about that...
