    The computer has come!

    On the order confirmation it said it should be delivered 7th of july, so I was expecting it to ship tomorrow and arrive next week...

    But now my wife told me a letter arrived which says that it's ready to pick up :D. Ordered it last saturday got it today... very good delivery time.

    It will be hard to focus on work the rest of the day... :p

    Hello All, new around these forums but have been browsing for a few weeks.

    Looking to buy a 6625WD but want too hear some more opinions. Would be great if we could see some high res photos and a few comments. If your installing an OS then perhaps you could take some nice photos for us then while you wait! :)

    Finally got mine today. Its lovely looking but I can't get the drivers fore the zepto bgn wirless onto it! the usb ports need drivers, and the lan isnt working! rsorted to burning a cd and copying them over, once i get internet working on it i should be flying! :)

    Its very nice though.


    By the way, if you order any extras like cases or mice, do they come in the same box? Because I only got my laptop and not the extras I ordered... might they be in another package?

    Ok, so I got the wireless drivers working after downloading the correct ones off the zepto ftp site, and I'm now posting from my 6625. :) the only bad thing is that the LAN socket seemd to be completely dead. I hope it's just a driver issue that I can fix with a wipe and a restart. Now I need to do some Windows updates to get up to SP2, then hopefully I should be all nice and swish.....

    I'm now sitting and installing all the programs I need... (which will take a while) :).

    I haven't run any heavy tasks yet, but just working with basic windows (vista) things is very snappy. I love the screen it's fantastic to go from my old matte 12.1 inch laptop to this big glossy screen :D

    The high resolution makes everything look extremely crisp.

    Some initial impressions:

    Very nice screen, horizontal viewing angle seems to be pretty good, vertical abit worse, but nothing that annoys you when sitting right in front of it.

    Keyboard is ok, not the best, not the worst. Would like a little more key travel, but otherwise it is fine.

    Case flexes when you squeze the side where the dvd drive sits, otherwise it's sturdy and good (not an issue, not something I will be doing alot ;)).

    Trackpad seems to be fixed from previous version, right dimensions for a widescreen, slightly indented so you feel the edges, buttons are ok.

    Hinges seem to be good.

    A minor glitch: I have a small edge where the panel over the speakers sits, it could be more seamless with the rest of the case here (it might just be my machine).

    It's more silent than my old 12 inch laptop, but the fan is on low all the time, in a silent room you can hear it. Not something that bothers me.

    When playing music you can feel vibrations from the speakers in the keyboard.

    I will say more later... so far Im very happy with this laptop. The minor issues I've noted are non issues for me, just mention the to be as informative as I can.

    I'm very happy I went with the 15 instead of the 14, this screen will make it a joy to work with everyday :). (I'll be using it without an external monitor)

    Our production has produced nearly 700 machines this past week :D so they have built almost every backorder during this week, so it wont take long until we are back on normal delivery times. :)

    So is mine - arrived today. But not very happy. Have waited 2 months for it and is has PC5300 RAM when I paid for PC6400. Also no TV card which I paid for. The machine that has arrived is £200 cheaper than the one I paid for. Not impressed. Will be interesting to see how Zepto respond to this.

    A little off topic, but perhaps we should open some 'Owners Lounge' threads for the new Zepto models (6x24w and 6625WD)? A separate thread has been made each time a person receives a laptop. If this continues then we'll have a load of threads as Zepto starts shipping out more and more laptops. Perhaps better to have thread for a particular model?

    (existing examples are the ASUS G1 and the HP DV 20 00t)
    (it seems a bit presumptuous for me to do it, since I don't actually own a laptop yet :))

    I have a problem that keyboard properties in the control panel is nowhere to be found (should be under Hardware and sound).

    I've searched for it in the help and got links to "click this to open keyboard settings", but nothing happens when I click the link. I want to change the repeat rate, and repeat delay, the default settings for this drives me mad...

    anyone else having problem finding these settings, or is it just my swedish version of windows? Where is a good forum to post these questions, (I suppose it's a vista bug, and nothing to do with zepto...)

    sounds good, and dont mean to be negative, but there seems to be numerous reports of minor problems from afew customers in regards to the delievered product...eg. keybooard not put on properly, wrong components installed/missing, etc.

    had another look at the zepto video and really think the people assembling the notebooks should spent just afew more then '7minutes' to truly produce a top quality product.

    me zepto 6625wd should be at me door on monday and im really hoping i wont have these issues, since im halfway across the world and need it now. i'd hate to have exhange and go through all that exchanging process due to silly mistakes :eek:

    Tee hee. I have to say that sentence stood out from an otherwise impressive video. I'm sure customers would prefer they spent a few minutes on the job!

    I wonder if people have contacted Zepto about the keyboard alignment problems? Zepto can't really learn from their mistakes if they don't know about them ;) .

    The machine will show it as PC5300 as the Santa Rosa chip cannot handle PC6400 yet. It automatically underclocks it.

    Ah! The wrath! The mailman has just been here. No 6625wd! $@£${€!!!
    I ordered on the 27th of june and I live in Denmark for christ sake! Where could it have gone? Estimated delivery was 6/7. Was really looking forward to fiddeling with it this weekend. Ill be gone most of next week so I wont be here to sign for it. On top of that the local postservice is threatening to go on strike again... Beautifull, just beautifull. Oh, Ill never get it.

    Thanks for that appreciate someone reading my post - I understand what you are saying but... had to take the bottom cover off because it wasn't fitted properly!. The RAM modules have stickers on saying PC5300. Not so much bothered because it all works OK (apart from no TV card) just don't like paying for 6400 and not getting it - I feel a bit ripped off as the price for the machine of the same spec that I have is £200 cheaper than the one I ordered.

    uhh...i'd definately be asking for them to switch for the correct one, or return the extra $$$ you paid for.

    sumhow when i order my it was with a 1x2gb stick as well, pc 6400, so if they gave me the wrong one im definately asking the return for the price difference (its like $229 AUD)......i've read somewhere the Znotes cant even take advantage of the 800mhz anyways?

    That's not only in the Zepto's, that's because of the Santa Rosa platform,
    which isn't supporting 800MHz (or even higher memory than 667MHz) ;)

    I called zepto today, to complain about not having my 6625wd. It appears that they were out of 100gb 7200rpm HDD, or that was the wxcuse he gave me.. Anyways, for free, he upgraded me to a 120gb 7200rpm HDD which they had just recieved and had in stock :). So now because of me calling my pc is going to come sooner and with a bigger harddrive! Very nice. I am desperate for it to come before friday, cause there I´ll be going on a two week holiday in France.

    Wow. Have answered a lot of emails now and can look at your case in more detail. Please call me if you like or arrange a time for me to call you. If the TV tuner is cheaper then we will obviously give you the lower price. I will configure the same machine and if the price is lower than the order price I will change it for you. Im very sorry the bottom cover was not fitted and that the wrong Ram was inserted. I will have this checked out with the serial numbers used.
