Here I put together a small review for those of you who are interested in the Nagamaki aka OCZ Whitebook. With 5 pages of pictures.

    Review of OCZ Whitebook,

    Nagamaki by KillerNotebooks.

    Summery

The OCZ Whitebook is a brilliant design, it has a sleek, professional, and very strong look. With a 1900x1200 display, it is very easy to multitask a number of applications. It is Big, and heavy, and not an ideal laptop for packing to school and work everyday. A great desktop replacement, but not very mobile. The OCZ Whitebook is for the Serious notebook enthusiast, that enjoys a massive amount of possibilities and an incredible laptop gaming experience. This would surly be an envy at any LAN party.

Keyboard: Looks sleek, smooth to the touch, the typing flows pretty easy, but takes a little getting used too. While playing games, it felt a little cramped, but than I prefer arrow keys over W.A.S.D, but on this keyboard, the arrow keys just don’t quite cut it.

Monitor: Firm and solid build, it takes 2 hands to open, and no creaking noises. Clear, Crisp picture, maybe 2 dead pixels, in the lower left corner, vivid colors, and great resolution for a 17inch screen.

Heat: Temps haven’t passed 70C, and the heat seems to distribute very well, mostly out the left side near the back. I haven't noticed any heat on the palm rest, or keyboard, the bottom of the laptop stays pretty cool. I know it is against the Laptop rules, but I had this one on my lap for at least and hour, and I did not notice any discomfort.

Wi-Fi: Not a whole lot can be said about wi-fi, we all know what it is, and this one is no different, works, picks up a signal, and transmits packets.

Looks and Build: Wow, First off… This thing is stunning. One of the most slick laptops I have seen to date. Not to mention all the available input/outs on this laptop, Coaxial? Yup, its there, very nice. Super Mirror like glossy, Collects fingerprints very easy, gets messy fast, but since the laptop lacks for mobility, I doubt the fingerprints will even get noticed. This thing is built like a rock, It is very solid, and no flex.

Touch Pad: Smooth, but some what rough feel, it tracks very nice with the up/down page scrolling. I had to turn up the pointer movement almost all the way, but with the big screen, and resolution to match, it made the pointer movement very compatible.

DVD player: I have not had a chance to play movies, but it seems to be a normal DVD player, nothing special, except the placement, it is in the front, which for those of use that always seem to open the DVD when you pick it up on the sides, then that makes this a very nice feature.

Web-cam: Nice 2.0MP Camcorder, I have not had a chance to play with yet, but I’m sure works fine.

Fingerprint Reader: I have used a total of 3 computers with fingerprint readers, With this one I am not impressed, doesn’t not seem to work as well as others, and gets a little confusing sometimes, perhaps with a software update, this could be a better feature.

Battery: Gets about 2 hours of battery, though I haven't done any real tests.

    Weight and Size:
Heavy, Big... Big and Heavy. I mean wow, this is not a laptop for someone whose got to pack it around all day, it weighs at least 10 pounds, and is larger than my laptop backpack would like it to be.

Power Brick: Its big, and powerful, doesn't get all that hot though, and haven't noticed any sounds coming from it.

Fan Noise: Very quiet, not a lot of fan noise at all.

    Specs:

    Nagamaki WUXGA 1920x1200 Glassview

    CPU:penryn Extreme x9100 3.0 GHz
    Memory:4 GB DDR3-1066
    4 GB Turbo Memory
    Hard Drives:320 GB 7,200 rpm
    Wireless Network & Bluetooth Cards:300 Mbps a/b/g/N BlueTooth (Nagamaki)Video Card:Dual 3870 ATi Crossfire
    Optical Drive:Dual Layer DVD Burner

Yep and I bet u it will have every game tested instead of Crysis. I think there is a big conspiracy theory among the OCZ users regarding Crysis testing :D :D

cant really say what it all is....just yet...waiting on steven to repost.
but judging by how the max frames duplicate, it's probably patched 1.1 or 1.2 (speculation of course)

Sorry, I haven't uploaded any benchmarks yet, I've had a very busy weekend, and still haven't done my homework... :/

As far as crysis, goes heres some benchmarks.

Also Mark has been working with me on the drivers, seeing how I am the only one who has ordered this laptop with Windows Vista Business 64.

    huh?

@ John, I ran the bench a few times before I installed the 1.2 patch, and than a few times after words, reall, this is the first time I've ran the tool bench tool for crysis, so forgive me for it being very immature.

Also I was getting about 30 FPS on high settings @ 1024x768 with AA OFF and all settings on HIGH. I took some video with fraps, and will post it up later.

Hey, first post and all, but just wondering if you could post the link to those pictures cuz the "Next" button doesn't work in Firefox or IE for me.

EDIT: The directory is open so I just looked at the pics one by one.

One other question, what do you guys (people that own one) think of the front loading optical drive? I'm planning on getting one shortly and am just curious

umm..only 30fps on 1024x768? 1200x800 pulled more than that with my 7811FX with the 9800m GTS. are you sure there isn't an issue with your system, drivers, or Crossfire? That should be much higher.

Killernotebooks doesn't offer a 0-dead pixel policy? It is standard with XoticPC.

No, it's the other way around. K|N's DP policy is standard, while the one for Xotic PC is an option.

Xotic offers 15 day no dead pixel warranty with the OCZ whitebook. Only Sagers have to buy the extended policy to cover that.

K|N offers a no dead pixel guarantee. As per Steve's review, he's not certain if those dead pixels exist.

If those dead pixels do exist, I'm sure he would be more than willing to replace it as per his guarantee.
That said, there's this though. While it does show the levels of service afforded to K|N's customers, I would think it also means that he needs to update his warranty page.

K|N has always added a 30 day dead pixel, whereas xoticpc was charging $100 USD for a 30 day Dead pixel policy, not Xoticpc has chose to just give a free 15 day dead pixel policy. All this is for the OCZ whitebook, Other models have different policies.

I was curious, what kind of packaging did the OCZ Whitebook come in? Was the box from KillerNotebooks or was it just the original box from OCZ?

The box from OCZ is a large, square box filled with packing peanuts with a thin box inside it. Open up the thin box and the laptop has foam on either end and has an anti-static wrap around it.
