    K. couple days ago i installed ddr. and my touchpad wire/ribbon/clip broke. today it kept restarting on boot up so i reformated with xp pro. now its telling me i cant reformat without home edition... wtf yo. =/ help me out someone... if i buy windows xp home edition will it solve my problem?

    i doubt that would solve the problem. so you tried to format and install a clean winxp? using the WinXP install disk, you can format it in the MS-DOS look alike screens. I don't see why it would have anything to do with Home Edition.
    also maybe run memtest to test that new ddr ram you put in. sometimes bad ram can cause problems.
