Today after constant problems i could put up with them no longer and complained to zepto, hopefully i will get a machine deserving of the quality or a refund.

This is the message i have sent zepto:

    Dear Zepto,
After 7 months use of the laptop I am generally unsatisfied and am experiencing many problems with the laptop. I would like to see your views on this and I don’t feel I am getting the full advertised potential of the product I brought.

Several of the functions of the laptop do not work as described:
    These are:
    1) The Camera scrolls during use, (Example: like when you attempt try to film a TV through a camera) that is the effect my webcam gives and I am using the official drivers given to me by yourselves and I have changed settings and scoured the web to no prevail with an answer.
    2) The laptop gets quite hot by the exhaust vent and the underside becomes quite hot too. I do not know what is reasonable however I don’t think this should be happening when the laptop is not being used.
    3) The laptop is sometimes and increasingly occasionally slow under low strain such as freezing of certain programs.
    4) My laptop has high latency and it currently running 4000MS and this is 4x slower than than recommended. The solution to this problem causes more problems than it fixes and when I am using bios 15 (I think) my laptop randomly reboots and is not as stable when I am using the earlier bios version. I don’t feel it is right that I should sacrifice stability for low latency, I should have both as this is what I expected when the laptop was purchased.
    5) I have returned the laptop once for a dead pixel and I have received another screen with a dead pixel in the same place, this does not bother me, but it shows me that you clearly didn’t test the screen upon replacing it.
    6) I have also sent my laptop back for a replacement keyboard and the new one I have Received is of poor build quality and 'soft' to the feel and there seems to be unnecessary flex on the keyboard on the right side. The keyboard also 'bounces' when the F4 and F5 keys are used and I feel this is either a poor replacement or the laptop has a poor build quality. This can be physically heard as the casing is noisy and feels flimsy for a laptop of this size. I would expect it to be solid. I feel overall that the keyboard is not of an acceptable standard and is only 'useable'
    7) I have another laptop with the same specification and that out performs my Zepto, I am displeased with this as I paid a lot more for my Zepto.
    8) When I am using the SD card reader, Windows XP detects the SD card button fails to recognise that the card has files on it when I know for a fact that it does.
    9) I began using the laptop with Windows Vista 32Bit and I experienced Lots of Blue screen issues and random unexpected shutdowns waiting sometimes for up to 10 minutes before the machine would fully reboot.
    10) For a gaming laptop and with a graphics card of its calibre I should be getting better performance levels, this can be seen when comparing my 3dmark scores to the ones stated on your website which has a lower specification overall but the same graphics card.

I generally feel that this behaviour is not becoming of a laptop of this price or calibre and am very unsatisfied with the overall performance of the machine.

I feel I have wasted my £950 pounds on this laptop which is out performed by laptops half the price.

The build quality of the laptop is generally poor and gives a cheap impression, this I feel shouldn’t be the case.

It is advertised as a gaming laptop and when I am playing games that my laptop fulfils the specification of recommended settings they should not be stuttering.

I am will to talk about this more and would like to return the machine to try and resolve this issues; please reply soon stating what you intend to do. Ultimately if the machine is returned to me with similar problems I would consider asking for a refund, I do not want it to come to this however as i enjoy using the laptop most of the time, but when i use it intensely i feel it is a 'let down'.

    Thanks,

I will keep you all posted.

Which model /CPU / GPU? (comment 6 suggests the 6x24W series).

    6X24W doesn't have a web cam. It's probably the 6625WD.

First of all: All laptops get hot. Even my friend's HP DV2000 that doesn't have a dedicated GPU gets hotter than mine.

The laptop being occasianally slow doesn't really mean much to me. Have you done any tests that can prove your point?

The card reader problem doesn't sound like a hardware issue to me. Have you tried different cards?

I myself am beginning to wonder if laptops are for me. So far ive had to send this thing in twice because it has fallen apart. The first time a bolt came loose and caused a BSOD when pressure was put on the laptop, i sent it in for a month and it came back with a new motherboard from what i can tell. Second time the touchpad became disconnected of its own accord, i was pretty pissed to realise that i had to send it back for about a week which was pretty darn quick but all they did was reconnect the mouse and keyboard. I'm now left wondering if something else will come loose? will this be before my warranty runs out?

This was my first laptop and although it makes my university life extremely easier i cant help but think all this seriously expensive hardware being minimalized and placed in something that is portable just doesnt mix?

You've evidently had more than your fair share of problems. Has the computer been carried around a lot? I have learnt from experience that screws can get loose, so every now and again I try to tighten all the screws I can access.

Maybe you should try to swap it for the Zepto Notus? The Notus feels quite robust (it contains lots of metal and seems to be well put together). The smaller size also reduces the stresses and strains. However, you might need to revise your usage habits since speed is not its strength.

Well thats another thing, i use programs such as 3D Studio Max and Maya, which require a decent enough pc. The higher spec the better detailed models i can render. This laptop does the job great except for the problems ive had so far.
