    Hi,

I have a NEC Versa E2000 laptop. (it's quite old, but for browsing on the internet it's fine.)

Anyway, this is the laptop: http://202.188.160.140/User/driver.aspx?a=72

I have downloaded all the drivers and installed succesfully.

Even though I have reinstalled the XP on this laptop for many times now, I haven't come across with these problems that I had today:

    1) The mouse Touchpad doesn't work. I can't even see it under the Device Manager, but when I download the driver I can't install it, because there is no .exe file.. (anybody could help me with that please)!?

    2) It's strange, because before my laptop charger lead has been unpluged I saw a little icon (battery) on the bottom right hand corner and now when I unplug it, it doesn't come up...

    3) Also before the OS reintall, when I have turned the laptop off it turned it's self off, I didn't have to do anything, but now when the XP turnes off, the screen tells me: "It is now safe to turn the computer off" Any way to resolve that how it was before!?

THANKS A LOT FOR ALL THE REPLIES!!

    Regards
    Adam,

1)For the mouse drivers, did you try this:

2)it could be set to hidden or it may not be detecting it...To check if its hidden, right click on taskbar-properties-notification area-customize.

    3) Possible reasons for the message at shutdown...
