With the new driver installed for the Nvidia Geforce 8600M GT it's unable to adjust the clock settings and the mem settings.

This is with the new driver installed 156.10 and with the Nvidia Ntune 5.05.47.00

Any solution or other tweak utility for the clock and mem settings.

The Nvidia Geforce 8600M GT driver version 156.10 is WHQL and is installed with the std inf file.

This driver is download from the compal website.

Maybe you can't overclock because compal won't allow you. Have you tried the drivers from laptopvideo2go?

Yep no solution, the clock setting and the mem setting jump back to default when you click apply.

Use the CoolBits tweak and use the old nvidia control panel so that you get Clock Frequency Setting tab.
You can then overclock as usual.

How do you use the coolbits tweek in vista? Tried to add it to my registry, but it doesn't appear when you get into the display settings like with XP.

RePaRaQu I'll reply your question in here since it was irrelevant to bios topic :p

My stock driver comes with sager dvd is 101.08 reported by RivaTuner 2.03
I had same problem after updating my driver to 163.44 and I couldn't do anything to overclock GPU even downgraded to stock driver again wouldn't do, so I ended up reformat OS and do a clean OS install.
You can check this thread and find out how much fps you'll be able to gain in real life gaming performance after overclocking. I had post some result of mine in this thread
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=165824&page=3

However I'm considering a bios level oc so I'll be able to update my video card driver to 163.44 without losing overclok-bility.

any other solution to tweak the GPU.
With the old driver version 101.34 it'possible but with the new driver version 156.10 it isn't.
It can be locked some where in the driver installtion, or just a registry settings.

Please advise on what to do and where to look.

I was never able to get coolbits to work on this vista machine, ifl90. all runs smoothly except the touchpad, which doesn't scroll in office 2007 programs.
would appreciate info on how to overclock the GPU on this machine. Using vista home premium
