The load time should be quicker, and starting apps in windows should increase.

Is there any probability to be slower in some things ?? Does anyone test it?

yep if i don't install teh Turbo Mem module in Vista you can see the decrease of speed justby looking.
If you run some bench... marks app you will see the difference more clear.

The Intel Turbo Memory module is suporting readyboost and readydrive.
This means the laptop is already running quicker when starting windows or loading apps.
You can use any kind of USB stick to set it up for readyboost but the NAND module is more then enough.

Hey man... I am having a hard time with installing a Turbo chip I picked up... software/driver wise. I know it's physically installed correctly, and it shows in the harware manager of vista, but there is a driver error. Any ideas? I'll post screen shots or whatever if you think you can help. I'm stumped... A couple things i have found is that on the intel site it talks about the BIOS being in AHCI mode or something, but when I enable that vista won't boot. Do you think that is related? Thanks in advance for any help.

first make sure to use the latest bios version 1.12 this solves some issues.
Then make sure to download the latest driver for the compal website or the intel website.
    Compal: http://www.compal.com/Download/NB/IFL90_91/Drivers/030/Vista32_64/13.Robson/1.0.1.1004%28WHQL%29.zip

    Intel: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/con...=2813&DwnldId=13805&strOSs=All&OSFullName=All Operating Systems&lang=eng

Make sure to install the chipset driver first for the Mobile IntelĀ® 965 Express Chipset Family.

You can find the link here for the driver: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=2800&lang=eng

just select the OS and download.

    Bios version 1.12 link: http://www.compal.com/Download/NB/IFL90_91/Bios/1.12.zip

Alright, so i fixed it but it took way too much effort! hehehe, not really, but check this out.
So I installed Vista Ultimate right when I got the FL90 and before I installed the NAND chip (Intel Turbo Memory).
After installing the chip it was showing up in device manager with errors and the intel turbo software wasn't detecting it at all.
So I found out that the AHCI has to be enabled in the BIOS, but when I did that it wouldn't boot. It would just power cycle and not load the OS. So I had to leave it disabled.
I thought that flashing the BIOS to 1.12 would just fix it, but it's never that easy. (flashing the bios wasn't as bad as i thought it would be)
Found a KB article from microsoft ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922976/en-us) that covers this! Yey Microsoft!
Had to disable or enable the AHCI setting in the registry, reboot, flip the AHCI on in the BIOS and everything is hunky dorey!

Well the startup speed en the loading of vista is much quicker.
The loading of apps and other stuff is much quicker.

But you must install the intel matrix storage manager over the one that's installed by the turbo module software.

I tmust be the latest version, check the intel website.

    Hi!
I have got an IFL90 with 1GB turbo memory, and I installed the latest driver from the Intel's website, both option are enabled (readyboost, readydrive), but there is something wrong with it, because the system getting so slow like nothing else...
the winchester's led always in blue, so it is working all the time, and it looks like the Windows freezed, but its not, just as slow as a Pentium 1.
During games it's loading something every time, and for example UT3 "runs" under 10 FPS...
So what do you think, what could be the problem with it? hardware problem, or something else?
Vista sometimes looks faster, but there is this "slowing" thing, and the HDD running.
