First off, thanks in advance for any help you're able to offer!
Second, NEVER buy a laptop from IBUYPOWER

Long story short, purchased a Compal EL80 from IBUYPOWER, after one week the fingerprint reader didn't work along with a few other bugs in the software. Sent back to IBUYPOWER and waited, waited, and waited...

Finally called and was told that they were refusing to repair the laptop due to user abuse...WTF, a week old laptop...then tried to say that we would have to file a claim with FedEX that it was probably damaged during shipping if we didn't damage it. But because they waited so long to tell us there was a problem, Fedex refused the claim. One of their techs dropped the laptop and they're refusing to fix the mistake.

How do we know they dropped the laptop? All of the "bugs" that we complained about have been fixed and are working properly.

The damage to the laptop is to the rear lcd lid and we've looked everywhere for a replacement part. I believe the part number is APZHM00010071703082

The LCD screen is fine and a new barebones kit for it runs around $400 so we don't want to pay that much to just get a new lid.

I've googled till i'm crosseyed trying to find this part...any help will be greatly appreciated in locating this part!

Is it the one with the brushed aluminum like in the picture, or is it just the plastic cover?

here is a picture of the damage so that you can see exactly what we're needing...

If i understand what you are asking...we're needing both the plastic and the brushed aluminum inset. Basically, the entire rear lcd lid.

It doesn't look broken to me, it looks just not well assembled or in place. I guess you will have to take another picture.
