I'm ordering an HEL80 and figured that I'd get a new bag for it while my wallet is open.

I searched and read through a few threads about bags and looked a few reviews, but I didn't seem to find what I was looking for yet.

I want a backpack that is compact. I will only be carrying my notebook, power adapter and maybe a bottle of water. For longer trips where I need to carry more I'll take my existing bag, but I want something light, half-decent looking and thin for every day use.

I hate carrying a bag that stick out a foot and a half off my back.

    Ideas?

My OGIO Metro bag is only about 4 inches thick when I've only got "daily stuff" in it + a notebook computer. it doesn't get huge till I load it up with books...

Not really sure what you are looking for I guess.

I bought myself an EastPak bag. It's quite big when fully loaded, but I needed the space. I know there was another one that would fit my HEL80 and appeared smaller, but can't remember the exact name of it. Nevertheless it was one of the Campus series, which are made for carrying laptops.

Kensington has been making some pretty nice notebook bags lately. Their Contour line in particular is not so "computer-bag-looking" and I think I remember seeing a few sleek models.

Be sure to atleast check out the OGIO metro if you haven't already.. I've had mine for 5ish years and it still looks new. Doesn't look like anything you would carry a notebook in either.
