Hello, fellow notebookers! My original power adapter for my IFL90 finally croaked. It's a Lite-On 90W adapter with 19V @ 4.7A. I originally bought a 90W generic universal adapter but it doesn't provide enough charge (I'm guessing it only supplies somewhere around 50-60W, which is enough for idling but will additionally drain the battery under load). Can anyone recommend me a good replacement adapter so I can return this one? It's probably also going to see heavy use, so I'm willing to pay extra for quality. Thanks!

That's weird. The fl90 is rarely using more than 60W... I guess any 90w from delta electronics or lite on should do the job. But if you say that it doesn't hold the charge it might means that your battery is also dying.

No, I mean that the adapter isn't providing enough wattage. If I run in battery mode I can play play the laptop under load (even games!) just fine, but of course that means the battery drains fast. If I plug it in and play a game, the adapter doesn't provide enough power so my laptop still drains form the battery what it can't get from the adapter. Say my laptop requires 70W right now, but the adapter only provides 50W. The laptop will also drain 20W from the battery to have enough power.

I bought one of those universal power-adapters (pretty sure it was a LiteOn) for my ifl-90 probably a year-and-a-half ago, when I had forgotten to pack my own power adapter for a trip. It worked just fine, even playing games (I was hooked on TeamFortress2 back then).

I'm curious if you've tried removing your battery, and then doing something intensive with your allegedly defective adapter.
