Hi guys, this is my first post and before
I ask my question let me say hello to everyone.
    "hello~"

Anyway I have a averatec 3200 series notebook
    with a part number AV3270-EH1.
My story is, I wiped out the hard drive and
installed Windows XP. And during the installation
I accidentally format the hard drive where the
    recovery files are located.
But now, I need to recover my notebook to factory condition.
because I need to fix my dvd rom drive.
Can somebody help me with this?
I am willing to pay about $10 for recovery disk.
If somebody can copy theirs or make a image file
    and send it to me.

Thanks and I am glad to se you guys.

Why don't you just buy a new slim dvd drive? Like a NEC or a Panasonic, it'll be better then the one that came with it, assuming it's a LiteOn drive that is. There should have been a separate partition for your recovery files. I assume when you tried to install Windows XP you wiped the partition for your recovery files? If your optical drive(DVD-ROM) is broken a recovery disk won't help you.

    Thanks for the reply guys.
I know that recovery disk will not fix my dvd drive.
But in order to get warrenty service I need to restore
my notebook. That's why I need recovery disk for my notebook.
Averatec ask me to pay about 40 bucks.

    I have the same computer.
You dont need a disk- but do the following:-
    1) Turn on your computer. 2) Press F4 repeatedly until you see the recovery program 3) Click - application on the left pane 4) then follow instructions on screen. That it.

I doubt that Colanz is still around. He posted his message since July 2005.
BTW, there's now a new Averatec forum at: www.averatec-forums.com
