Hello. that is a great tutorial, and I did save it. I will try to attach it to this post if I can. thanks to ubercam for authoring this. I would like to add I could really tell a difference. I had also lapped (sanded down) my processor and heat shink. the heat sink was already very flat, but I was surprised at how much I had to sand the processor to get it flat. I am not able to monitor the actual temp, but I could hear a difference. Before, after heavy usage, the fan would just run on high forever. Now, after playing Myst:EOA, the fan throttles back down to slow speed within a minute and then the temp of the air feels like room temp. Rex

I just finished with the tutorial and put Coolermaster Premium Thermal Interface Material (PTK-002) on the CPU/heatsink. The reduction in noise is very noticeable. Thanks to Cameron for a great guide.

By the way I also installed 1 gig of Crucial Ram:
    1GB 200-Pin SODIMM 128MX64 DDR PC2700 :)
This is working well in the laptop.

I have had the laptop since July 04 and it is working well.
