Must be overseas... never heard of compal
I've been around notebooks ever since my first one in 1985, a Tandy 600.
Over here in the states, HP/Compaq & Dell are the most common.

Compal is one of those companies that make notebooks for big-name companies such as Dell, HP, etc. In other words, Compal makes them, others rebrand them.

And you can purchase them here in the states, too - pretty easily.

For example, the Compal IFL90 is rebranded differently at these places:

    www.powernotebooks.com (known as PowerPro 10:15)
    www.xoticpc.com (known as FORCE 3297)
    www.sagernotebooks.com (known as NP2090)
    www.voodoopc.com (known as ENVY M:152)

They are all Compal IFL90s. I don't know of any big box names using the IFL90 though.

ZipZoomFly.com sells the IFL90 as the "FL90-S". Doesn't have Bluetooth, but otherwise it's an IFL90.

zipzoomfly is the navy blue FL90 not IFL90.

IFL90 comes with finger print 512mb card and WSXGA+ Res may b bluetooth as other has mentioned.

I ordered one FL90 .. very basic system and decently called cheap for affordable gaming.

Well, the "FL90-S" that I ordered from ZipZoomFly has the fingerprint reader, 512MB 8600M GT, WSXGA+ screen, and black cover. Also arrived in an IFL90/91 box, with an IFL90/91 serial number. I don't know why ZZF refers to it as "FL90-S", but it's an IFL90. The other two (less expensive) models sold by ZZF, however, are FL90s (without the "I")...

Isn't the navy blue lid supposed to be matte (non-glossy), with the black lid being glossy? The lid on mine is glossy/shiny, and certainly looks like it is black, but perhaps I just can't see the blue component (if it's there).

I did notice that although the box states that the system is an IFL90/91, the model number printed on the bottom of the chassis is FL90 (no "I"). However, the system contains the 512MB 8600M GT and WSXGA+ screen... normally available only with the IFL90. I guess these are frankensystems... basically an FL90 that has been made into an IFL90, with the exception of the bluetooth controller. And if so, then the presence or absence of the "I" is unimportant.

Well it appears to be black most of the time...It appears blue only when directly under a light... And it's smudgy too.... [IMG]
