Does anyone know if they Zepto is planning to release a new 14 incher with a 9600m gt card?

The ones they currently have seem to be 14" with GDDR2, so I was also wondering if any potential 14" 9xxx would have that as well?

Given the cooling problems of the 6224, and before it the 6214, I strongly advise against buying a 14" version with a gaming gpu like the 9600M

    Hi, I'm using a 6214W with the 7600 for over 2 Years,

first I got the same overheating probs: after 20min of gaming it shut down...

The problem was a multi layer "sandwich" of way too much thermal compound, pads and stuff...

They removed this crap, put a simple layer thermal compound on it, an that was it:

since then no problems, no shut downs, no freezes, bluescreens...

Of course 14" gaming is close too the (heat) edge, but if its well constructed and assembled ist possible...

So I am waiting for the NOX A14 and even will give the 9650M GT a try...

    Ciao,

    No, the NOX/MYTHOS etc A14

Are not announced, yet but they will come...

Same Specs as the 15Inch modells.

    planed for october...

thats what i am waiting for...

and with the 9650M GT they will be one of their kind in this size...

indeed fluserls, but I'm under the impression that it's been 2 generations of laptops sold for trial and error (assuming they're improving the design).
I don't think it's that difficult to calculate the thermal profile of two heat sources in a small box with a copper pipe and a vent.
    Costs nothing too.

    Ciao,
there are no concrete numbers, but when I think of "problem-posts" in the different zepto threads, there have been some...

but i also watched my oponents for 6214w which were the Benq S73G and a Asus A8JP, both 14Inch and mid range GPUs...and they had the same number of probs.

And you should never forget, there may be 50 users declaring this hardware is crap, but at least Zepto sold, lets say, about 10k to 100K of this without problems...cause not everybody registers to a board to post: "I am so happy with my laptop..."

But your right the problems they have, ARE teethinh troubles, such as the thermal compund thing...even a novice might know, that to much of this is too much....

    Thermal Issue:

Don't know if its difficult to calculate, but what is difficult, is too keep ist small&quiet...right?

The new Nox and Mythos are not manufactured by Inventec as the old models (6XXX) were, so I doubt that we'll see the exact same kind of cooling system for the new models from Zepto. Hopefully the 14-inchers will be released soon and work as intended.
