I've been looking to replace my 6214w battery which is completely dead now, and the price for one last week was £90. This weekend (I think), they've gone down to £55, but you still need to pay £15 for delivery so £70 all together.

Since the 6214w is the Inventec W14, as is the Benq Joybook 7000, will the Benq battery be safe to use with the 6214w? The battery has product code FFSPK-01045, the Zepto's is NBP6A27B1. Benq's is made in Canada and assembled in Taiwan, as opposed to Zepto's made in Japan and assembled in China. However, they both output 10.8V - 4.8AHr, so have the same specs.

I would look at a technical data sheet and make sure all of the pins have the same output and that both batteries have the same retainment design (what good does a new battery do if it doesn't stay in?).

My bad, I saw an initial image of it and it looked exactly the same as Zepto's battery, but after a second look the clips look closer to the edges than mine. What a shame, I'm just a bit reluctant to pay £55 down from £90 for a battery when it was £32 2 years ago :/ What a rip.

AFAIK those 12 cell batteries were (are?) manufactured for Zepto so chances aren't good to find alternatives.

Thanks for that useful info iyepb0, I was actually looking for the manufacturer of the battery for a while and couldn't find it. I saw that seller from taobao but wasn't sure if I could trust the site as I can't speak Chinese. This also means I have no way of contacting the seller :S Could you maybe see on his profile if there is a link to an email address I can contact him on?
