Change log:
v1.13 (10/31/2006)
- Fixed issue where brightness would reset after reboot or shutdown.
Brightness setting now saved.
As a note I can inform you that we are working on a new directory structure on the FTP (not fully implemented yet), so from now on the BIOS' will be found in the directory for the machine. Also we've finally gotten the FTP updated with directories for some of the machines we where missing drivers for on there (6014W, 6015WD) as we've had a lot of questions concerning drivers for those machines.

First off thanks for informing us. I'm just confused - will there be another BIOS update next week?
I'm asking because the main issue (the "standby"-bug) still exists:
I know - those values might all be wrong but the fan is spinning on high speed and the only big difference between before and after the standby is the 73°C value.
Edit:
Just tested the brightness setting fix. It's not (fully) working for me.
On battery:
It always boots with lowest brightness settings.
If I raise the level, go to standby and wake the book up it's again on the lowest level.
On DC:
Settings are remembered but same as above: it comes back from standby on the last "saved" brightness level.
Confirmation required.
No reason for drama but was it supposed to work this way? From my point of view whenever I change a setting it should be saved. No matter if I'm on battery or DC. -

We have no ETA on the next BIOS, but you are right this was not the way it was supposed to work. I have contacted the BIOS crew again about this issue, as the brightness setting is not working as we wanted it to work. The settings should of course be saved no matter if the machine is running on AC or DC, also after standby. The BIOS crew is working as hard as they can on getting the issues at hand fixed.
The standby issue is top priority, but they are also working on implementing the suggestions from the other topic about remembering BT settings ect. We will, as always, release the BIOS' as we get them, and the changes will be visible in the change log.
We really do value the user feedback we get, as this sometimes points us to issues we might not discover ourselves during our tests.
