    ftp://ftp.zepto.dk/Znote6214W/BIOS/

    v1.14
    - Fix BT setting (on/off) not remembered when coming on from power off.
    - Fix Fan spins full speed after standby
    - Fix Fan spins constantly after certain heatpoint even when the CPU cools off.
    - Fix Brightness setting is not remembered after power off (updated).
    - Fix speedstep seems to be a problem with the new C2 DUO CPU.
    - Add Yonah Solo CPU support.

(Should work with 6314W too, but I can't confirm that guess.)

    Checked and working so far:

    * BT status saving
    * Brightness saving (every combination of standby, AC, DC ;))
    * YAY! - Speedstepping now works with Linux! (2.16.17 and .18 tested)

Thanks to Zepto for kicking their BIOS programmer's asses. :p

Dudes... the standby bug still exists.

    Test scenario:

*) Make sure the book is "cold".
    *) Boot to Windows.
*) The fan should be off, now go to standby.
*) WAIT FOR AT LEAST 10 MIN.
    *) Wake up the notebook.
    *) Listen to the fan...

I'm very happy that the brightness setting is now saved correctly and even more happy that speedstepping now works with Linux, but at the same time I'm very disappointed.

I really don't understand why a group of specialized programmers can't fix a bug that didn't exist in earlier versions.

Hey. I have seen reports about having to flash v1.14 twice because the soundcard does not work the first time you flash. Has anyone else experienced this?

I got the habit of always loading default values before flashing anything, because that has in all likelihood been most throughly tested by the developers. Then afterwards change the settings back to my liking.

@asdfasdf: Your guess should be good. Flashed my 6314W with no problems. When I ordered, I think I read that it's identical to 6214W except for the color.

Ok , I finally decided I was going to upgrade my bios now...
Can anyone tell me how I'm supposed to go about doing that or direct me to the post explaining it, I can't seem to remember how to flash.

    Hi.

To flash BIOS, simply download the file from Zepto's webpages. Then burn the file as an image to a blank CD-R. Insert CD at boot, and the rest is automatic.

remember to reset your BIOS settings to default before flashing

I just flashed to v1.14 myself (from 1.12) and there seems to be a bug in the BIOS.
After flashing the sound card does not work (unidentified error).

To fix this, simply reboot as someone posted above
