I'm still grasping at straws, trying to make my 6130 run at a decent temperature, without a fan. I've done the arctic silver, and cut away the silver paper blocking the fan, and it seems the cpu is stable. Now, the HD is another story, it seems most of the heat comes from there. My system will even freeze when I do heavy hard drive stuff, even with a fan!
I'm curious if anyone else changed their HD and what the effect was. Aside from faster boot up, etc, does the lower left corner of the notebook stay cooler?

I have run a few tests, and there's nothing wrong with the HD (well, not anything that shows up).
I do run speedfan (which gives the HD temp) all the time, and if I rip a dvd to the HD, the temp will hit 50C, then she freezes (ironic eh? so hot it freezes, lol)

Have you run a hard drive test on drive. Try using HD tune and run that, it may be you have a defective HD in your unit. Get a 5400 rpm or higher HD with alteast 8mb of cache memory to replace the 4200 one in the 6130hs.

That's strange mine temp is at 51 degrees celcius. My computer isn't freezing. I'm encoding video right now, that's why it's at 51 degrees.

I wish I had that problem [

cooler base. mine got quite warm under my left palm, but about half the temperature now with the cooler base under it (barely warm). the cooler blows air into the vents below.
