I've tried these. They really don't work on my laptop. Everything looks fine, they install okay, seem to run smoothly at first. Then within a couple of minutes of playing WiC. The GPU downclocks to 168/100 and the performance is destroyed. I'll be returning to 174.12 which work great on my notebook.
I have no idea why these drivers downclock for me, it must be something to do with the configuration of my PC. There is no way I am prepared to re-install Vista to rule that out, so I guess I'll have to live with it-at least until a new driver or bios comes out that actually fixes the issue.

Has anyone else tried this driver?
Aside form that does anyone else have a problem with the GPU downclocking on 174.31 onwards drivers? This only happens when I play games so as long as I don't use my laptop as I want I'm okay. All the earlier drivers run well. I even found that the original 101.08 as supplied with my PC work better than these new ones form Zepto.

Rene, why are these drivers not on the Zepto ftp? Are we being used as guinea pigs? I don't mind, I would just like to know if these are going to be made official.

andy, they are on the FTP.... try and look at the links for the driver download...
Have you remembered to press F5 while being in the directory for the drivers so it's not using the cached FTP directory? They look to be official.

Kadett2k8, you we're right I was looking at the cached version. I only wondered if they were not official yet as I can't get the bloody things to work properly. They install okay, but when I play games the GPU down clocks to 168/100. but at the desktop the GPU runs at 475/400.

I am also experiencing problems with the clock speeds. At desktop they don't down clock, and they have suddenly downclocked i games
I'm using Rivatuner to monitor clock speeds

A Quick note... there is a good reason to go for the laptopvideo2go version since it supports all resolutions zepto version does not.... very bad, but then again there is alot of bad stuff with zepto these days... still no new bios that fixes all stupid bugs in the 6625......

And yes 175.80 downclocks for me aswell... going back to older driver.. hmmm which one is the best?? 174.74 complains about an missing dll at random startups... 174.16 perhaps??

My 174.some_beta crashed today when I tried to rotate the screen so I just took 175.80. After googling, I found out you can enable rotating your screen by changing a value in the regestry.

I'm not playing any games at the moment, so don't know the performance of this driver, but no props with vista.

All dirvers downclocks eventually, as you reach 95 degrees or 110 degrees if you are using "sleep fix". I can't play WoW nor a old game like CS: Source. Downclocks all the time, ending up with 10 fps.

Gonna sell this **** soon enough. Going back to a desktop user.

My problem is that they downclock at about 80C. I'm not too sure it's heat related. If it is heat related then there has got to be somewhere in the drivers where it specifies this. I am yet to find it though. I have found my favourite driver to be 174.12. I get no stutter even hitting 100C without the "sleep fix". The Powermizer function works great in these drivers too. I could do with the "enhancements" and/or "fixes" these drivers give though.

That means with the 174.12 the gpu limit is set to 100°C without standby? Because with any kind of driver i saw that my gpu temp go over 95°C!

andygb40, Yes same downclock here aswell around 80C, so it seems to be in the driver.. though it doesn't do this always, i think it only happened once so far, perhaps has to be somthing with the bios this aswell together with the drivers, The thing that says otherwise is that other brands has this probb aswell... so.. driver it is :)

i have installed the 174.12 - same stuttering issue ;(

clockrates and fps don't go down, BUT you notice a slowdown every 2 seconds (for ~1 sec) . if my gpu temp is lower than 95 degrees this stuttering does not appear. what now?

Try this. Go to the nVidia control panel and set the settings to "Quality" in the "adjust image settings with preview" section. This seems to make a big difference for me as to the stability of my GPU in game play. Try it, it can't hurt.

Does the Sleep fix work at all?. Whereby you boot your notebook as normal. Put it to sleep, wait a few seconds and then wake it up. Then play games. Other than that I've only had problems with this sort of pausing when I had the settings in the game set too high for the card.

i can't set it to sleepmode and wake it up. after waking up my whole system is slooooow, i have high loads on my 2 cores... its xp, fresh installed with sp3.

when i use the old drivers (156.xx) my card can go up to 106 degrees c without stuttering, but those old drivers are buggy as hell (especially playing ArmA). the new ones are good to play, but they reduce the gpus power at 95/96 degrees c.
funny thingis , when i try to capture this stuttering using fraps, its nearly gone... overall fps is lower, but stuttering is neary not noticable.

my solution would be a better cooling performance, so that the gpu never exceeds 92/93 degrees c and go with the latest drivers. but i don't know if one can easily reduce the gpus temp.

Have you changed the paste on the GPU. It's easy to do and, providing your carefull shouldn't void your warranty, just unscrew the keyboard and gently pop it off. After changing the paste to AS5 and a general clean out of the heatsinks, I dropped by nearly 10C. I know Zepto claim to use AS5 in their assembly but they didn't put it on properly on my notebook as there was a huge amount along one edge. It should be a thin even layer as it's only there to fill the tiny imperfections in the heatspreader/GPU.

When I uses the sleep-fix I get a few extra fps, and it's quite noticeable as even a few fps is 5-15 % increase. I have installed 177.26 at the moment.

I recently unscrewed the keyboard and the cooler to try and make it fit better. The GPU, is that placed approximately underneath the g and t button? There was a huge amount of paste, which looked somewhat strange.

That is indeed the GPU cooling system. To me it looks way too small. I am considering a modification to increase the overall surface area of the heatsink assembly. (I could probably squeeze a few more fins in). That huge amount of paste you mention is what I had, did you notice the heat spreader doesn't seem to contact the GPU evenly? being lifted slightly along one edge. I made mine fit better by making it sit parallel on top of the GPU core.

Tought Id just add this little thing:

Remember to regulary clean out your fan and grill. Had the stuttering issue until I cleaned the crap out, while gaming my GPU is at 79/80C and CPU 72-75C (before 94-96C (stutter) and 85C).

little addon: as standby does not work for some reasons on my laptop, i tried hibernate. this also "fixes" the 95 degree C bug. the next days i am buying new AS5 and reposition the heatsink..

Those drivers only work well for me if I disable Powermizer in the registry. Otherwise I get constant downclocking phases. 475/400 for 60secs, then 275/200 for 10 Secs, then 475/400 for 60secs and so on. The temperature of my GPU never goes above 92C and that is an absolute maximum. The average temperature of my GPU is 86C. I do, however, like the 177.35 drivers as there is no need for me to disable Powermizer.
