Great News...
-
Justin and Donald, can you verify that the internal microphone of these new units records fine without noise interference? Thanks.
Simply use the built in Sound Recorder. -

We expect to have a machine in our hands in the coming days and will test this and report back.
-
Are you planning to offer the JFL92 in 'barebones', as you do with the IFL90? If so, when will this be available?
Thanks! -
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
Yes we are, we anticipate having them available next week.

Justin what would be the purpose of buying the Force 3928 over the Sager or Compal and is there any differences between the compal and Sager? thanks.
-
Are you aware of the screen change, meaning the brand.
I have the old Compal IFL90 and the new JFL92. -
Did the screen brand change? What was the old and what is the new?
Is the new screen as nice as the old? -
Picture will be uploaded in a few minutes.
Right is the !!!NEW JFL92!!!
Left is the !!!OLD IFL90!!!
As i found a while back
The info about screen change reported by Intel it seems to be correct.

Was the picture uploaded somewhere?
I hope to find out more because I'm thinking of getting a JFL02 and one of the reasons is because people said the IFL02's monitor is nice. -
-
Thanks! Which is which? One looks brighter than the other. What are the models?
-
oops, I see which is which now.
Which one is nicer RePaRaQu? and does that mean the new one is an LG and the old one is something else? -

-
Does it have GDDR3 on the video card? Probably a stupid question, but still...
-
The screen bright......... is better on the OLD Compal IFL90.
But the quality of the NEW Compal JFL92 is great, it feels great for your eyes sounds maybe stupid but i don't have to squeeze it now. -
-
GPU-Z should be able to detect it.
-
DDR2.
Report about the benchmark are uploaded later. -
Check picture for more details. -
Cool. Thanks RePaRaQu for the pictures and information and time.
-
Ah, DDR2.... it would be so much better for DDR3, but thanks a lot for the pictures!
-
-
I can tell you this me new Compal is running with the new Penryn CPU.
Also the BIOS is 1.13 and no the base of the notebook is still FL90.
Check picture for more info. -
Who makes the screen for the FL-90, I thought it was LG as well ???
-

The Sager NP2092, Xoticpc's Force 3928, PowerNotebooks.com's PowerPro P 11:15 all use the Compal JFL92 shell to build their branded versions of this laptop.
Please understand that the barebones model is the Compal JFL92. Compal is the ODM (Original Design Manufacture) while Sager, Xoticpc and PowerNotebooks.com are the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer).
Therefore asking what the difference is between the Sager and the Compal confuses the fact that the Sager NP2092 IS the Compal JFL92 shell after they custom build it, brand it and warrant it.
For a more complete understanding please read this short article... Let's talk about the concept of 'Name Brand' as it applies to laptop computers -
Excellent link paladin, very clear description of the differences between NMB, ODM and OEM, it's true that it is confusing for consumers. I think this should be very clear stated in the invoice somewhere because the product source will somehow impact the quality and support of the product. I don't know if you saw my other thread, but I have a shell without all the stamps declaring that my laptop is compliant with all the regulations here in US, this is very scary. -
The base is using the sticker with the FL90, but the test and warranty garantee me it's the custom build JFL92 also known as the Santa Rosa Refresh. -
Hey has anyone found any benchmarks on the NP2092? I have looked everywhere, but could not find any.
-
I will upload my results for futuremark, wPRIME and windows vista perfromance index.

The 2092 (JFL92) benchmarks are going to be very close in relation to the 2090 (IFL90).
-
The FL90 is also going with the name FL90 SRR (Santa Rsa Refresh) -

RePaRaQu - What resolution did you run to get 4122 3D Mark 06? I assume it is between 800x600 and 1280x800?
-
Here are the links, the benchmarks are not detecting the CPU coorect.
But the results are compared to other notebooks fine.

PCMarkVantage

PCMark05

I know I tested this also, but then again no details about what type of CPU.
But still no correct info, i will check some other software hope to find the info we are all looking for. -
hmm how about digging it up in the bios?
-
THe CPU ID is detected by myself when I opened the notebook and removed the cpu cooler unit.
Before I opened this i contact my vendor, with approval to not loose my warranty.
So check the other topics, I uploaded some pictures for more detais about the new design. -
I also see that the screen options are different between the Sager NP2092 and the FORCE 3298. Who manufactures the WSXGA+ screen on the NP2092?
-
I think this will be LG?
-
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
The Sager NP2092, PowerPro P 11:15 and FORCE 3298 are all built on the Compal JFL92 and the WSXGA+ screen is manufactured by Chi Mei N154Z1-L01 Monitor ID CMO1520
-
-
Confirmation from Comal & Marasst verify this will change in the new badge with the FL90 replaced for the new FL92.
Meaning the new JFL92 will all be delivered with the Chi Mei N154Z1-L01 Monitor ID CMO1520.
I hope this will be the the same here in Europe.
