    Hey All

I am new to compal, know nothing about them. However due to long shipping times towards IBM i am looking else where. What is the thinnest laptop compal makes with either a 14.1 or 15.4 wide inch screen that has a graphics card,2 gigs ram, hard drive at least 120 gb, bluetooth, fast processor, for under 1800?? I do not care about santa rosa, i do not think it makes a huge difference. Any advice is appreciated.

    Thanks

    Mike

Did you read the Compal thread at http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=60041? After reading this you may find you are not new to Compal at all...you just didn't know it :)

All laptops have a graphics card. Do you need a discreet graphics card or an integrated graphics card? If you are not going to game or do other 3D applications you will get no benefit from a discreet video card, and you can save a good bit of money.

Most Compal based laptops are around 1.1" to 1.2" at the front and about 1.5" at the rear.

The best thing to do is visit some Compal reseller's websites (see the first link above) and study their Specifications pages and then price them up on their Configurators.

Compal's systems are not exactly the thinnest of the bunch. They are generally right around average--as Donald posted above (approximately 1.5" thick overall).
