Vizio preps for Windows 8: all-in-one PCs get touchscreens, notebooks get 'enhanced' touchpads -- Engadget
If Vizio indeed fixes the issues with their laptops, mostly the touchpad problems, I might be interested. Although I would really love to get a lightweight ultrabook with an IPS screen, I have all but given up on the quality issues of offerings by the various brands. I would have loved to get one the Asus UX series, but it turned out to be so bad that suppliers are pulling it from their shelves. At these high prices, and with so much competition from Apple and Android products, what are the manufacturers thinking; no wonder the back to school season was announced today as being a total disaster for the pc industry.

What the heck; is Vizio going to do anything for current owners of the laptop with laggy/unresponsive touchpads? Did anyone ask?
I love my Vizio laptop, but the touchpad does tend to get noticeably sticky compared to any other laptop I've owned. It won't stop me from doing what laptop work I have to do, but it would've been nice if we could send in our laptops for a touchpad replacement when available. -
any word if the keyboard is going to be backlit?
