Will zepto have the new 8800-cards as an option, or even the 8700-card in the near future?

Since Zepto doesn't produce 17", they won't be able to introduce the 8700M or the 8800M I'm afraid :)

I'm quite sure that it's never going to be a 8800 in our 14"/15" modells, It's to hot i'm afraid.

i would also like to add that i read somewhere that; even the most powerful mobile version of 8800 wouldn't be even near as powerful as its desktop counterparts.

this makes sense as the 8800 desktop version can consumes around 100 watts and the heat it produces even at idle is intense! so it is very very difficult to pack such a hot and power hungry component into such small, power efficient package. so sacrifice were made. though i would suspect that the 8800m would be very powerful graphic card indeed.

The mobile GFX never performs as well as their desktop counterparts (for the exact reason you gave), so that's no big news ;)
The Go 7950GTX "only" performs like a 7900 if I remember correctly :)
    So the 8800M could perform like a 8600GTX? :)

    I don't think there'll be more 8600 versions: they have 2 I think, and come with a GDDR2 or GDDR3 option
    for better performance (8700M or 8800M), you'll have to get a 17"

    Thanks for the info!

Any idea what the releasedate might be on the new (better?) 8600m-cards?

As I said, there won't be any new 8600M cards.
All those cards are out already, though you're unlikely to get a choice. The manufacturer will decide which card they want to use.
(Like Dell uses the 8600M GDDR2)

    1024x768 gives a score of 4100

as for the GDDR2 or 3: I couldn't find the information. That makes me believe it's GDDR2: if it was GDDR3, they would have advertised it :)
