I know I have just got my replacement, but technology moves quickly so apart from using nvidia's or ati next gen Mid range gfx card what would you like to see?

    * Keep the Blue lights, im a sucker for blue lights.
    * make the zepto name on the back illuminate like the apple book
    * Keep the styling simple like they do now.
    * Do some work on a superior battery technology, some of the big guns get far superior performance out of the standard batterys used in machines similar in spec to the zepto.

    * Drop sony slot drives, the loading mechanism is poor
    * use Mini DVI or DVI instead of VGA out.
    * Walk into N U systems and cull them all with a baseball bat.
    * Use an online credit card system to pay
    * Stop Calling our superior 3 pin power cable Mickey Mouse
    * maybe the styling of the P1 buttons could be changed
    * maybe the letters on the keyboard could illuminate under AC if user required.
    * make the case available in a choice of colours, ALA Black, white, Blue etc.

Id agree with alot of what your saying. The main points I would like to see would be:

    DVI connector

    Improved batterylife

Fix the bloody fan being on full blast after standby!

    Drop NU systems!

Definately get some sort of online payment option.
When I was ordering I wasnt sure if i was giving my card details to some theif on the other end of the phone, they seemed to know nothing of my order!

Change the texture around the touchpad/ change touchpad texture. Its quite annoying over-running because my fingers cant tell the difference between the pad and the case.

Other than the above I find we have an almost perfect laptop :D

    Ok, apart from above mentioned:

    * Stabilize the LCD enclosure
    * Don't move the Insert-key next to a very often used key like the spacebar (has become a pain in the asdf for me).
    * Keep the hardware switch for wifi but redesign it - it's kind of loose and I'm sure after one year of switching it will get on my nerves.
    * Maybe include a 5-in-1 card reader, since some of us are bind to Sony's fu**ing MS(Duo)(Pro).
    * Touchpad dimensions should have the same ratio as the screen
    * An OSD for the FN+* keys should be easy to implement and would please many of us
    * BIOS password...

    >Fix the bloody fan being on full blast after standby!

That's going to happen with the next BIOS.

oh and maybe sort the keyboard at the bottom right. It rattles and flexes a bit when you hit he arrow keys. And all of the above and it would be nearly perfect.

Oh and maybe some interest free credit for at least 6 months.

Agree with most of above point, exept Juan Ker's powercord point.
Keep the Mickey Mouse lable for the huge inpractical uk power connector. ;)
Cheers Juan Ker, i couldnt resist hehe.

people we do hear a lot of your requests naturally i cant reveal what is gonna happen, however could you elaborate on the part where the others get more out of the battery (standard) than we do.

That can only be done through software so im quite curious.

The ASUS w6j i think it is runs the same time as ours roughly - (i'm not sure of the asus name, but it was the one also tested on NBR which has same VGA spec as ours).....

yeh the w3j has about the same battery life.

I'll tell you what i would love though would be a switch like in the sony sz series that allows the user to switch from intergrated graphics (when your not gaming) to the dedicated graphics (for when you are). So you get a considerable battery life performance increase cos i dont need my 7600 when im typing an essay or something simple like that. I think that is a really good feature that im suprised hasnt caught on more.

you are mentioning what I asked ages ago and mortens reply was there wouldnt be enough difference to justify it.

well if thats true how come my old DV1000 could run for 6.5 hours on a 12 cell battery

I don't think your old DV1000 had a mid level GPU in it...

Make the 6214 have a larger screen (let's say 15,4") and a higher resolution (like WSXGA), let's have an option for a built in tv card, change the layout of the keyboard (esp. the DEL key next to space :-/ ), perhaps extra buttons for the cd player... oh, wait. They already have one of those...

Illumniated keyboard would even me make me switch from the 6615WD to the (next year's) 6214!

    It's not a bug, it's a feature :D

Need a button to put the fan at full blast, no overheating while playing.

    @RichBaines, Juan Ker et al.:

I am very sorry that my knowledge of the english language is not good enough to make a joke. Somebody might have read some of my postings and knew that I ordered a 6615WD (15", WSXGA, tv and all)
I tried to make a joke in a foreign language and failed. Sorry.

I'd prefer the looks of the 6214 but I felt a need for the higher resolution. And WSXGA with a 14" sounds... tiny. I don't know if there are users out there who really use "cd player buttons" when they have them on their notebooks - I think they uglify the looks of most notebook cases.

They only thing the could improve with the 6214 would be reducing the heigth. It really looks like a standard case with a widescreen tft... The speakers should be mounted behind / beneath / below the (illuminated) keyboard.

Oh - and Zepto should change the keyboard layout. The DEL key looks so wrong where it is...

I'm very happy with my Zepto as it is (and definitely don't change its sleek looks) but here's my little wishlist:

-switch for the touchpad, or at least make the BIOS remember the setting! It's really annoying to have to switch it off every time I boot.
-better quality keyboard (rattles), and alt + alt gr should be right next to the spacebar, not <> and Ins (people in the graphic business know what I'm talking about). I suppose it's really hard to satisfy ALL users with the limited space you have for the keys, but I haven't met anyone yet who wants that little "menu" key or TWO windows keys, SO DITCH THEM
-vga or dvi left instead of in the back
-"correct" dimensions of touchpad + different texture indeed
-higher screen resolution would be cool
-my sony slot-in works fine, but it is a noisy bugger. And front loading would be much more convenient, but I suppose that if that was an easy thing to do, we'd seen it earlier.
-make the whole package lighter. My 6214 is heavier than advertised on the website and I was a bit disappointed with the weight - thought it would be more mobile.
-I like the blue leds but please don't turn it into a pinball machine (sorry Juan)
-luckily the nvidia sticker is small and (admittedly) quite pretty, because I'm not very fond of all those intel-core-centrino-windoze-ready-graphics-to-the-max-wow-this-machine-is-sexy - messages that adorn most laptops

Voilà. Zepto can take their time cause I'm hoping to hold out with this machine for 3 years at least...

Yeh its slightly heavier but you dont notice it unless you weigh it. Its the slot in optical drive, the 7200rpm hd and the extra stck of ram make it slightly heavier but bearly.
The only thing i dont like aesthetically is the speaker bit under the screen. Its a bit bland. A zepto logo in the middle would be nice.
