    Intel® CoreT Duo T2400 1.83GHz Processor w/2,048k L2 On-die cache - 667MHz FSB
    Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound
1,024MB (2 SODIMMS) CORSAIR DDR2/667 Dual Channel Memory
    80GB SATA/150 Hard Drive at 5,400 RPM
    Combo 8X DVD/24x10x24 CD-RW w/Softwares
    Built-in Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945 802.11a/b/g
    Smart Li-ion Battery (9-Cell)
    Windows XP Home

I am so grateful for the help and informaton I have received via this forum. I don't mind telling you, though, that my poor little brain is exhausted from all the configuring and reconfiguring with one vendor after another. Feels wonderful to have it all over and done with.

Well..I was going to wait on the S96J, but then I found the HEL 80 and realized that it hands down had a better appearance and a better price and warranty from PowerNotebooks.com . Then what sealed the deal was the unheard of 3 year warrenty at that price with lifetime tech support(with people that speak English). I was looking for a 15.4 with good gaming performance and I was also seriously considering (dont laugh) the Asus Z81SP before I realized that I could use the underside of it as a George Forman Grill. I will be using it for "a college laptop" but I will also want to install a few games like Hitman: Blood Money, Rome: Total War, and Quake 4 and it is nice knowing I won't have to sacifice my love of PC gaming when I head off to school in Aug. I have been searching around all summer for a laptop and it is like you said Gingercat, a nice relief finally to of made a decision, and a good one at that with a great, friendly and reputable company.

    My HEL 80 config:
    PowerPro L 8:15 FORCE - $1,737.00
    15.4" WXGA (1280 x 800) "Glossy" LCD w/PCI-e nVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 w/256MB
    Intel® Core™ Duo T2600 2.16GHz Processor w/2,048k L2 On-die cache - 667MHz
    FSB
    Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound
    1,024MB (1 SODIMM) CORSAIR DDR2/667 Memory
60GB SATA/150 Hitachi Hard Drive at 7,200 RPM
Combo Dual Layer SuperMulti DVDR Drive w/Softwares
    Built-in Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945 802.11a/b/g
    Smart Li-ion Battery (9-Cell)
    Windows XP Home
Full Range Auto Switching AC Adapter

Oh definitely, the long standard warranty and totally USA based support were very important to me, too. Well, your machine will be arriving soon, so I hope you will let us know how you like it.

Well, today I received an email from Powernotebooks stating that my laptop will be delivered tomorrow. I am so excited; I feel like a kid at Christmas. Tomorrow morning I will be setting up my new wireless router. Fun, fun, fun!

Mine will also be delivered tomorow. I can second that feeling of a young boy at christmas, though for me i would liken it more to Hannuka ...lol. Just set up a new wireless router yesterday, too..
