It seems the UX has been out for some time but I really like the weight and I have heard nothing but good things about P1's product and company BUT not much about the laptop itself. Everything seems to be about the MX.

Anyone own a UX and what are your thoughts, please.

I am a heavy business user that does some light solid model CAD work?

    Thanks in advance! :)

the UX is based on the asus Z33a/ae. So any reviews of that will give you the info you seek.

By the way, there will be no upgrade to 12" core duo (at least asus is not coming up with one for the US), so the SX mentioned in another thread is sort of a replacement for the UX. go here

I was going to post a link to my post from October but someone beat me to it :) !

After several months of heavy use the machine has held up beautifully. My daughter uses it daily for law school and it is put in and out of a messenger bag laptop sleeve all day long, in a bag stuffed with books. That said, except for a sheen on the keyboard (she said that everyone she knows has shined the surface of their keyboard from use) it looks as good as the day it arrived. Out of curiosity I recently gave it a once-over; the hinges are tight, nothing is creaking, etc.. Despite using it extensively it has held up great.

Portableone was fabulous even after the sale; they helped tweak some settings to the firewall for wireless connectivity at school and driver updates for the Intel wireless card. Any questions get an immediate and helpful response- can't recommend them highly enough! If you want to know if it will be good for your use, I'd recommend giving them a call. Ivan and his staff are very honest.

If you have any other questions, I'll be happy to respond if I can.
