    Hello,

I just got my new 6224W yesterday and tried to install a software, in this case the NHC, to decrease or increase the CPU speed according with the load, so as to increase the CPU life and to be able to monitor the laptop temperatures.

The program starts and detects all my laptop settings, but is unable to adjust the CPU speed. Is anyone of you using it (or any other that you'd recommend)? Would you recommend to use one of these kind of programs at all?

    Thanks a lot :D

    Manu

NHC works well with XP. It has problems in Vista. Do you want to undervolt your CPU or just monitor temp.? The decreased CPU speed is just dynamic swtiching. Windows does this without the help from any program.

I also have the 6224W and NHC, but 'speedstepping' doesn't work!
My processor is constantly running at 2,20 GHz ( I have a T7500)

Yes that is a problem with the Vista version. Under XP it works. Manni (the guy who wrote the program) is currently busy and doesnt have time to fix the bugs. Last I heared from him he sounded pretty pissed of at Vista :p

Hi wave, thanks for your reply.

I want to be able to do both, to monitor temperatures and to set the dynamic switching for the CPU speed. Does Vista do it by itself? As far as I know Windows XP didn't do it and now, with Vista Ultimate, NHC indicates the CPU runs at full speed continuously, even when there is nothing to do.

If NHC doesn't work with Vista, is there a similar program that you'd recommend?

I don't want to undervolt the CPU, sorry if I didn't explain myself very good.

Just like mine, but it doesn't matter to me!
    I don't hear the fans, I don't see it at my battery-time

Maybe with: RightMark CPU Clock Utility 2.2

    You can download it here:
