I updated my averatec 3200 laptop to vista and now when it boots up I have a blank screen... It took me a long time before I realized that it was booting to my external monitor setting, after the boot I have to use the function key to use my laptop screen... Is there something I can do to correct this... Very annoying

Assuming you don't have a Control Panel tool specifically for your video chip running Vista...
Right-click desktop and choose Personalize, then Display Settings. You will have to fiddle with the controls to make your built-in screen the primary monitor ... or specify that you want to use only a single monitor (the built-in screen).

Many notebooks REQUIRE you to use the video driver provided by the notebook manufacturer for full use of all features. So far as I know, Averatec has not published a Vista driver specific to the 3200 series.

I just checked Averatec's site for you. They do not have any Vista drivers for your notebook. This means you are stuck using generic Vista video drivers and must use the Vista video control applet as described.

Launch Windows Help & Support in Vista and search for "Change display settings on multiple monitors" for information on changing your built-in display to be your primary monitor.
