I put this in the which notebook should I buy thread but I figure you guys in the Compal forum might be able to answer this question since it is specific to Compal.
I've pretty much determined that I want a HEL80 with
Core 2 Duo T7200 2Ghz
2gb RAM
100gb 7200rpm HD
DVDRW
WiFi card
Internal TV tuner(HEL80 only)
1280x800 glossy screen
The problem comes in when looking at all the resellers and the different versions of the HEL80 that are available. Here's the ones I am looking at:
1) "PowerPro L 8:15 SUPRA" at powernotebooks.com configured as above costs $1637 with a 3 year warranty from powerpro.
2) "SAGER NP2080" from Xotic PC is only $1577 but it has 3yr labor 1yr parts warranty.
3) "Force 3295 Compal HEL80 Elite", also from Xotic PC costs $1634 and has a 3yr warranty.
The only difference I see is in the warranty. Are there other differences?(build quality, do they say powerpro, sager, etc on them?)
Also does anyone know if powernotebooks.com will give the cash discount if paid via echeck like XoticPC does?
I think that the Force and the power pro model have 3yr warranty w/ overnight paid shipping. Which of the warranties do you think is the best?

For questions about powernotebooks, I'd suggest picking up the phone and calling them =P
As for the difference in the system you listed. I know powernotebooks comes with a case badge that says powerpro or crown. The systems should be the same since it is all the hel80. -
As noted they are all the same system rebadged differently.
If you think about it, the extra $60 is worth it should you even need to send the notebook in once for servicing considering the cost to 2nd-Day a notebook these days.
I hope I never have to send mine in for servicing...but I really love the security blanket that my PowerPro came with. It's really a nice warranty.
The Sager saves you some money--but it doesn't add up should you have any problems at all.
