So I came home today, pulled my Nox out of my bag and opened it. With a lot of loud cracking it dragged up the cover above the keyboard.

What I think happened was when I put my bag down at the bus stop, the left hinge broke off (I put it down (unintentionally) hard perhaps), and that piece of metal sticks out and won't rotate now, so it pushes up the cover when I move the lid. Apart from the cables to the screen, the lid itself is completely loose on the left side now.

I've managed to rotate the metal thingy so that it is where it's supposed to be when the screen is open (and so the cover above the keyboard could be popped back in), but I can't close the lid now because it will break off the back of the hinge cover if I do.

Would this be easy to fix/replace? I emailed the zepto shop here in Holland and I hope I can bring it by, I still have warranty.

Called the service center here and they said they'd fix it for me in 2 days if I send it in. Apparently they've seen this happen before too. Gonna cost me 250 bucks though, woof...

To fix it or for transport? Sounds unusual lol... Anyway dont believe that it will be 2 days, they just say that to make you shut up :p.. But yeah im sure they are very familiar with it.

Yeah it occured to me later that that would be sans the time it takes to ship it there and back again ofcourse :)

And yeah they said 245 bucks to take the thing apart and put in a new hinge. He literally said "[...] and then we gotta put in a new hiiinge - that doesn't cost nuttin' either!", and I thought sure sure, two nickels, come on now...

Well they might just tell him how much it would be if not covered. He has to know the price before he sends it in, if they need to charge him when they actually get the notebook in for repairs. Also they can't a 100% say is it's covered or not before they get the notebook in for repair.
But who did you talk to? The support company or Infocare?

In Holland the Zepto distribution is handled by NextGenMobiles, they have a service centre here where they do light repairs. However this defect doesn't fall under the warranty anymore because technically I was directly responsible for breaking it by putting it down too hard (even if it was on accident), so I have to claim it on my personal property insurance (we have an insurance here that covers damages and such to all items in your household). But if I don't do that, I'd have to pay the ~250 bucks myself, he said.

Unless you dropped it onto a very hard surface from more than 1/2 metre, the computer should be designed to tolerate such treatment. Notebook computers have moved on from being delicate instruments to being consumer products and should handle moderate maltreatment. So maybe the Nox's hinges are a weakness. The second poster in this thread indicated two other occurrences of the same problem.

I took off my shoulder bag and put it on the street tiles. It's a normal bag, not a laptop bag, and the nox was in a sleeve, with it's back at the bottom. It's pretty interesting that that is enough to snap a metal hinge clean in two.
