Hi all,
Just wondering if we have heard any responses or insight into the timeline for these drivers which Arima/Flextronics/OCZ are preparing. I was under the impression they were coming out a few days ago. Just wanted to see if any of the OCZ Representatives can offer some feedback. Thank you, your assistance is much appreciated.
Sincerely,
Erik G.
PS - If anyone flames in this thread I am reporting it to Chaz immediately. Thanks.
-
ill find out if the ocz rep doesnt post first. worst case im sure ill know more after ces (hopefully i can take the time off im doing triple work this week to make time lol)..
-
Nice.. Where is CES being held?
-
las vegas same as always lol
-
Ahh. Wanna fly me out?
it's tax deductable for ya
-
bump - Any OCZ representatives care to respond? Any insight is greatly appreciated.
EDIT: I just realized that you're likely not on here fielding questions, and working thru the holidays. But, hopefully tomorrow we can get some feedback -
e most ocz guys are away till monday. there are a few sales guys in the offices. i know tom is there but he said most everyone else is away. ill shoot ryder a pm and see what he says or call them for you
i have a few questions myself. i actually would like to know after SPEAKING with msi setting up my account why msi is releasing the 4850 in a notebook (from what they say) in january and ocz is saying late march.. if they are actually coming in january why the hold up till march. id like this answered.. -
PMd you with the reasoning..
-
There are really no new updates on timeframe. We have been given another "2 more weeks" ETA from ATI before the drivers will be WHQL'd.
Still pushing on our end for a more definitive ETA in an email I received from the office before the Holiday. -
Well, hopefully they're working on the 9.01 package then.. cause it will be released shortly. *shrugs* Thanks for the feedback.
-
there you go. if i contact them they will tell me the same thing..
-
Any answer is better than no answer.. even if I personally don't like the answer.
Ya never know.. *maybe* they're actually working on the 9.01 drivers
-
i know they are for desktops so who knows
-
What is? the next driver set? 9.01 or 9.1 - whatever they dub it? Nothing new from ATI if so.. but don't go crushin my hopes so soon
-
yes ati (i spoke with them) is working on the 9 series drivers already.. it will be a while before they will be released though
-
well.. I'd just like to point out that we are currently sitting at week 3 since the original 2 week window. not sure anyone really cares, seeing as everyone else has modded the 8.12 drivers to install. but, I thought it should be mentioned. I hear AW is releasing the 9.01 drivers for ATI the 10th of January. Hope we can have our 8.12 by then.
-
Maybe they will just skip over the 8.12 and work the mobility set into the 9.01 release
-
from what im hearing the 9 series will be pretty soon..and now dun dun dun.... i was also told (not from ocz) the 48xx series cards will be sooner than everyone is expecting at least thats what im "hearing" from a normally very reliable source (lives in china and has contacts with clevo, flex, etc directly...) no more info for now except that he was told to expect them sooner than anticipated (he is a reseller over there directly) if he can make it to ces (and if i make it there lol) ill be able to talk more with him..
-
So Z, got a whitebook now ?
-
...so basically we got hoodwinked by those OCZ Reps...
-
Dude.. obviously the OCZ reps aren't too interested in assisting in these forums. To date - they answered one technical question, and then blew off some other guy on here asking about his AW TV Tuner basically saying "We didn't sell it, not our job to assist you" Anyhow.. mere observations. I truly hope they are working diligently on the new drivers. It would be a great contribution to the community for them to release their WHQL drivers and support this rig like it should be supported.
-
well if no one else i will keep you posted on what i know..ill call ati myself and keep up with the person i know who gave me the above info i noted..
-
Well it seems we might have been abandoned like the kid that smelled funny. (No offense if this was anyone here
)
-
no i know they are still going to be here. they have ces coming and its the holidays dont forget i spoke with them today and they are still here.. dont loose hope yet
-
Oh man, I hope this is true. I've been itching to get a whitebook for awhile but held off for the 48xx to come out. Lets see it!
-
-
i have sent both questions to him ill post back when i hear back from him but it may not be till friday

Shane@DARK. Company Representative
Hey everyone, guess what? OCZ finally has some new drivers (revision 8.54.3.1). However, there's a catch - they're not being publicly released yet because they seem to be performing worse than the stock drivers. But if anybody would like to try them please contact me -just neither I nor OCZ take any responsibility whatsoever if they destroy your performance or if they harm your computer in any way.
-
worse in terms of gaming performance or stability?
-
Shane@DARK. Company Representative
Gaming performance.
-
They're based on the originally released drivers.. Yay. *doesn't jump for joy.*
-
-
buuuuuuu!!!!
I am using their VGA_AMD_M98XT. the best for me so far... Such a shame, I was looking forward for these -
Yup was going to post this but i had to wait to try them myself. they do perform worse. ill be sending ocz a report of my findings today. imo i would hold off on them. i can also send them to anyone who wants to try them. but as shane said its at your own risk of using them
