    well...we can hope...lol

i would only over clock for benchmarking...after that was done...i would continue to run my system stock. and have the peace of mind knowing that i had the power to unleash...should i need to.

and your right!...them 1730 are very pricey...i looked at getting one first, before i went with the 901.

    I wouldn't bank on a m1730 refresh like the AW M17x.

The rumors on Dell's XPS are for that brand to be rolled into the Studio line as a 13 inch and 16 inch model.

The XPS will most likely compete against Macbook Pros and HP HDX offering an nVidia integrated and single discrete card.

The info from this thread has proven pretty reliable except for exact dates:

...the hole thread is based on speculation,i dont get youre point, anyway my point is:since there is going to be a new mobo chipset well i think is common sense there is going to be a new D901c (alot of ppl in NBR have already said this)now since Clevo use Cebit every year to release there upcoming models makes sense for competition/marketing purposes a delay on Ati cards in the market since 3870's are quite *new* hardware.

Ah, don't get me started on that thread and Jayson's absolute BS. Everyone on there was guessing and I was the only one trying to argue that.

And look, no releases in November.

Dell has not provided any ACTUAL proof or a genuine leaked slide (not the crappy one that started everything) on whether Studio XPS laptops exist or not.

I happen to agree that it is likely that there will be a new clevo machine similar to the d901c based on core i7 announced at cebit next year. However, if it doesn't happen, then don't come crying here... ;)

I'd believe it and I would hope that this new machine of Clevo would be thinner and not look so plain. But seeing that the Core i7 is physically bigger, runs hotter and consumes more power than the Core 2, it would be interesting to see Clevo's final product (if any).

OCZ DIY support forum is saying the 4xxx is expected "approx Q2 2009." Updated ATI drivers for the 3870 are expected around 12/10. I wonder if the new 8.12 drivers will support ATI Stream Technology for the 3870 HD mobility?

I think Core i7 can't be fit in laptop because it want more energy. Core i7 TDP is about 130+( I don't sure). If you want core i7 in laptop, you may be wait for the low TDP version of cpu (its name Larrabe or something like that)

I think Larrabee is the combination of GPU and CPU, not a low end CPU.

Just wait for Calpella, it's not that far away.

    Dear Brother Qazz333,

Do you have any idea how much will the whole system cost with the dual 4870 crossfire cards ???

will it be anything near the pricing of the OCZ extreme now with the dual 3870 crossfire ???

    Thanks

    Brother Falling Cat

No, no-one has any idea about pricing. But I guess they wouldn't differ to much.
