I guess this is the first "LINK" that I've seen confirming anything for the Whitebook. Other than the guys here who are 100% guaranteeing that they'll fit, that is. Anyway, the more people saying it's true, the better for my incoming Whitebook, I say.

your link isnt working
-
Oh Crap. Yup, it's fixed now. It's just a little excerpt at the bottom of the page, but yea it just feels good to see it in writing more and more.
-
I just looked at their site, if you scroll down towards the bottom there is a spec table for the notebook. Here is the link:

It was assumed that these cards will work, due to them being similar to the 3870 series, however, we`ll have to see real life compatibility.
15000 3dmarks with a core 2 duo sounds nice indeed ... -
Umm.. Try 18-19k
-
doubtful with a regular say p9500 ^^^ at least imo
-

how far do you think the p9500 can overclock to since it is 25w tdp or do you think the t9400 is the champ for c2d centrino 2. because i heard the that the t9300 is the t9400, t9500 and up just not overclock.
sorry for high jacking the thread. but the ati's are very cpu dependent. -
hummm, new system....15k 3dmark06. wonder why they didn't run vantage mark.
and im gonna go with E on this one..18k to 19k seems do able if the drivers are fitted right. -
well make sure to know that the non extreme chips cant technically be overclocked like the xtreme ones can.
but ive seen some p9500's oc pretty well from looking around the web -
-
im dammn near at 17k now with no cpu/whole system over clock. add in over clocking the cpu which is about another 1k to 2k points. oh yeah...it's do able.
but im more interested in seeing what it nets running vantage mark. the 4800 desktops performed very well in this, so we shall see where the mobiles fall in at... -

if it is a p9500 being able to hit 18-19k. i think your in trouble john. or should be worried. you crown is being taking away by a 25w cpu.
-
hey ill eat my words if it happens but i cant see that on a p9500
-

well we will have to wait and see. i know i'll forget by that time.
with the 4870 in crossfire. do you think the drivers will have all 1,600 stream cpu's running. cause i think when the 3870x2 came out. not all of them were. -
as for sp's...the ati's are something like 5 to 1 ratio...i remember someone clearing that. so 1600/5 gives you the actual number. don't quote me on that. -
^^ now that i agree with that was my point i was trying to make
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Yeah you have to divide ati's stream cpu's by 5 in order to compare to nvidia's. but nvidia are highly clock which i think makes up for it. and ati's core and shader are locked as one. i dont know. i have to do more research.
-
imo the 4870's will win overall until nvidia releases the next gen cards then we will start the battle all over again lol
-
we'll have to wait till the next clevo comes out to get an idea. if they add any type of over clocking at all...then the older dated 9800m gtx will still be a fair contender.

In terms of 3dmark06, you probably won't see a huge increase over the 3870s in Crossfire granted that we're talking about the free basic edition. In the desktop variants at least, there is only about 1k difference between two 4870s in crossfire and a 3870x2 (which is very similar to two 3870s in crossfire). Click here to see what I mean. So, 18k might be possible if the guy who got 17.3k from his system changes his cards. 19k might be pushing it and would probably require some serious external cooling.
Vantage, however, will be a different story. -
that score is still suspect...he hasn't resurfaced again. been waiting for him to repost ever since i caught that pic of that score..lol
-
yeah..that was a flubbed score. I don't think they even ran it with the 3870s. I can flub a score too.. Heck, if ya want.. I can show that I'm already running 4870s in crossfire.
-
yep...he got a 6300 for cpu...desktops dont even get that...lol
well my qx9650 didn't that is and it was over clocked to 3.8 ghz -
Where did this gem come from?
-
-
I'll look into that for you ich.
-
That's Crossfire, the desktop version doesn`t get that much of a score...yep.
-
Uhh..whats desktop crossfire get?
-
i think you can search orb for results on that, but it may take a while to find something to compare too
-
-
Hellufa system Quad - Nice run. Curious, how much that desktop setup run you?
-
CPU $280ish Motheboard $280 Ram $250 Video Cards $270 each or around there
Powersupply $170 i think, thats a rough guesstimate oh and the CPU Cooler another $90 . -
not bad.. Build it yourself?
-
-
Oh..and you wanna buy the OCZ Whitebook next
*looks at personal sig*
Don't be skeered, never had any blue smoke -
-
-
single gtx280. haven't retested it seriously in while...may have to see if things have changed... -
Nice and im not suprised to see the difference, but there was no way in heck i was going to cough up the $$ for 2x280's for the few fps i would have gained in games
. Take a look at the difference in our CPU scores and your only 100mhz slower .
