Hi, i just ordered few days ago a OCZ whitebook from a European seller, hope this to be a good choice becouse i was reading this forum and people says many different things about it. I really like it talking about design and performance. Hope to not make a mistake getting a laptop with ati GPU.

This will be my first laptop, and my first computer i will install vista 64 on it... due to this i have a lot of doubts.

This could be a threat where all the people could look for last drivers, put his whitebook benchmarks and little tricks to improve the SO.

I was looking around mainly to improve the performance of the SO that i will install and i find some nice advices. I will post it as fast as i have time for it.

    This will be my laptop:

    · Display: 17" WUXGA Display (FullHD, 1920x1200)
    · 2x ATI HD3870 (Crossfire)
    · Intel Centrino 2: T9400 (2,53 GHz, 6MB L2 Cache, 35W)
    · OCZ - DDR3: 4GB OCZ (1066 MHz/2x2GB)
    · 250GB (2.5", SATA, 5400rpm)
    · 250GB (2.5", SATA, 5400rpm)
    · eSATA:
    · 1 HDMI Port
    · High Definition Dolby Surround system
    · CD/DVD±RW (8x Speed, DoubleLayer)
    · Webcam 2,0 Megapix. CYBER SYSTEM (CX17)
    · Windows vista ultimate 64b

Mainly i would like to know about 4 points:

    1) Drivers for 2xati HD3870... what would be the best choice?...
    2) RAID 0 ON hard drivers... could you explain me how i would have to install the hard drivers like that?
    3) Improve SO windows vista...
    4) Talking about overclocking what we could try on and what we couldn´t...

Sorry for my english hope you to undertand it ;)

    1) Probably the one Mark @ KillerNotebooks is using or any optimized ones that may come out in the future

    2) Insert two blank Hard Drives (preferably of the same manufacturer and capacity) into the notebook --> Boot up to BIOS --> Enable RAID and AHCI --> Reboot --> when you see Intel Matrix storage screen, press Ctrl + I (gotta be quick) --> enter info (it's self-explanatory; you'll have to select to use RAID0 or RAID1, name your array, and set stripe size -> 128kb is recommended) --> Exit --> Install OS (Vista).

    3) ?

    4) If you have an Extreme CPU, you can overclock the CPU via the BIOS. If you don't have an Extreme CPU, then maybe use SetFSB (until there is support for the Arima notebook). As for GPU overclocking, should be pretty straightforward with ATitool or other programs. Just be sure not to over do it.
