Hello I have a post on this located "What Notebook Should I Buy?" thread. Does anyone have one of these notebooks in question and can you offer feedback? I do not know which one to choose for the same spec.

They haven't the same spec, the graphic card on 2424 is slightly underclocked.

As per my other thread, I'm aware of the subtle differences. I meant the customisable parts are the same spec. The 2424 is 256mb clocked at 375mhz. and the 6615wd is clocked at 450mhz with 512mb. The screen size and gloss options are different also.

Also the 2425W has PCMCIA and ExpressCard, where 6615WD only has ExpressCard.

I choose the 6615WD for the WSXGA+ (1680x1050) - so much more space than the 2425W's 1280x800. Letters are tiny on the first two days of usage, but I love those many, many, many windows I can move around my desktop. GoogleEarth and MagicMaps (a map software for topographical maps) look so sharp with this high resolution. Reading PDFs fullscreen is nice. If you're going to use software developing tools like MS Visual Studio or Eclipse with all their side-, top- and bottombars you're going to like the more pixels.
Games I play (Battlefield 2 and TrackManiaNations) do fine with native resolution - that's one of my concerns I had before buying the 6615WD.I miss the fingerprintscanner... I always lock my notebook when I leave my desk. Brightness is ok for indoor usage, "felt" reflections aren't worse than with my desktop tft.

I got the 6615WD a few weeks ago, with 2gb Ram, a 2Ghz CPU and 100Gb HD..... the screen running at 1680 is amazing, and the whole machine is both well built & runs like a dream. I've also installed XP (Because i use it for Music) & also Ubuntu Edgy (Latest version) which is my main OS. They both work fantastically.

What more can i say? :) I don't really know anything about the 2425, but the 6615WD was (for me anyway) a great choice.

I love my new laptop. It is well built and has great performance.

    Negative points

    • Bluetooth does not work. [Since been fixed, was a software conflict]
    • Keyboard is a little bouncy, but only on the left hand side, I think the memory compartment is under the keyboard there.
    • I was told on the site I'd have 4 USB ports. I got 3 last time I counted but doesn't hinder me in anyway.
    • UK Customer Service. - Nice people, but Zepto need to look at this because they just bring down the whole experience.

    Good Points
    • I play Battlefield 2, FEAR, Company of Heroes and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic all the time, I don't know my FPS, but it all runs smoothly at medium-High settings and looks great.
    • Fingerprint scanner, LOVE IT! It sometimes takes a few tries to log in, but thats down to me rather than the hardware, I find wetting your thumb a tad helps.
    • Danish Customer Support - Top Notch! Couldn't ask for more from them.

    Overall, very happy.

I agree, Zepto Danmark's great! Very quick and competent replies from Morten and Roelof-Jan...

Support Germany is fine - as long as you call them and don't wait for an email.

After getting my 6625WD, and showing the inlaws what it looked like, we ordered a 6015 for them. No need for high resolution and a massive gfx card.

I get the laptop, and the keyboard is not put on correctly, so there is a very visible curve/bump from the top and down the (7,8,9,u,i,j,k,n,m) keys. Its the first thing i notis after opening it.

I am baffeled as to how this error isnt notised. The guy who did the assembling is moron. Taking a second to look at the laptop before loading it op to the next production stage, shouldnt be that hard.
Then there is the testing and quality check that all laptops go through, to make sure they are ready and able. And still nobody notised.

Its such a small thing, but its such a pain to open a brand new laptop, and within 3 seconds, see an assembly error you cant fix yourself.
Then it has to be sent back, fixed, and returned.

This is where Zepto DK shines, no doubt.
Im still pissed off that i had to return it.

After calling Zepto I got forwarded to the technical Service guys.
Rene S (i think) pick up the phone. And it was smooth sailing from there on out.

I could wait to get a fraight letter by post the next day, so i could send the laptop back free of charge. But i wanted to send it back the same day, so i asked if they could transfer the shipping cost to my bank account instead. That was no problem.
I waited 3 work days(5 normal days, it was over a weekend), and it was back in my hands on monday.

Rene, really came through, and everything went as he said it would.
As i said im still pissed that it happened, but the great service made it allot easier.

    Thumbs up Rene
